'Ordinary Man' -- New Ozzy Osbourne Track

Ozzy Osbourne and Elton John walk into a bar. Oh wait, they didn't do that but they did collaborate on a new track called "Ordinary Man." It's the title track from the album of the same name, due February 21. Listen below and let me know what you think.

This is hot garbage. The worst of the new songs he has released lately by far!

Again, gotta' agree with Bkallday and Jeff. This is just more of his late career "let's try the Beatles thing" crapola. You know, the introspective side of Ozzy, where he comes off at Oasis with slightly less enthusiasm. While it is cool that he has an artist like Elton phoning it in (and I mean that as a pun of how they collaborated, not a diss on Sir John), that is about all this song has to offer: Ozzy is playing with someone who is interesting.

You said it, Badland. RIP Neil Peart. Amazing musician who overcame so much while giving so much back to others. So sad to hear it was brain cancer. Lost a close friend to the same thing last year. Tore my heart out, watching him valiantly flight the disease while slowly fading away. Thank goodness, the last time I saw him, just about a week before he passed, he exclaimed: "Today has been a good day!" Took every ounce of his strength towards the end to have a positive outlook. But he fought it as best he could. I hope Peart was surrounded by people who loved him.

I'm glad that you and him have kissed and made up, but I'll take a page out of Nikki's pysch 101 book. The greatest predictor of future behavior is to look at past behavior.

“Ordinary Man” is extraordinary!

This is one of Ozzy’s best poppier numbers in a loooooong time!

And if anyone gets a pass for sounding like The Beatles, it’s him as he could easily claim to be their biggest fan as he is also the leading collector of Beatles paraphernalia in the world.

No pass for this song, Metalboy! No pass. And Ozzy was one of my idols growing up. It is lazy writing and uninspired drivel. Where's Daisley when you need him? Or Lee? Oh, that's right. He burned those creative bridges long ago. And it is doubly sad because at least some of his co-writers are people with solid credentials.

Bkallday, you nailed it about Fletch. See my comments on the next post. I just don't get it. And I know you and I have had our problems. But I am trying to stay positive . . . sometimes, though, it helps to call it like you (or I) see it. I have done the same with you. And you as regards me. But, geesh, Fletch needs to find a handle and quick. He is off-balance and, as regards the Peart post, in poor taste.
