Gene Simmons Lists His Beverly Hills Mansion
For a cool $22 million or so, the house owned by Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed can be yours. He is moving to Washington state because he thinks the property taxes in Beverly Hills are too high. Fun fact: my property tax rate is actually higher than Gene's.... I just don't own a multi-million dollar mansion! Gene and other celebs could always move to less expensive homes somewhere else in California, but I guess when you think you need 16,000 square feet to get by, your tax bill will be higher than those of us who slum it in 3,500 square feet!

And moving to Washington. Hmm. I wonder if he is going to get chummy with the REI-set or the Doomsday Prep-set. Both are untapped markets for KISS. Imagine. KISS walking sticks for people who think you need a walking stick and water bladder for a flat walk in a city park. Or perhaps the KISS bunker. You can drink your cold gin underground while the world above goes to hell in a KISS hand basket. Or he could simply cater to the tourists and sponsor a "KISS-a-flying-fish" booth at Pike's Place Market.
But let's be serious. Everyone needs at least five bathrooms. It's the American Dream to have as many commodes as bedrooms in your abode! I guess when you are rich, Taco Tuesday is everyday!!!
And, in somewhat sad news, if you are 'slumming it', Allyson, what am I doing in my 1,200 sq. ft. home?!?! I think I am going to social distance for a few weeks, just to hide my shame. A win-win for everyone methinks.
Now, in real serious news, I am always amazed by how much my friends pay in property taxes in California. When a 'starter home' goes for about 1.5 mil in some places, there is something seriously out of whack.
