Free Metallica Concert Tonight

Here's some happy news. Monday Metallica continues with a showing of Metallica: Live In Lisbon on YouTube via the official Metallica page. Tune in at 8pm EDT for the show. The Live in Lisbon concert was filmed back in June of 2007. You can also watch by just clicking the YouTube embed below!

The Backyard Babies streaming show this past weekend was pretty cool. https://youtu.be/rQNr-sI01qA I'm sure others have had instances where they've passed up on a show they've since regretted. Mine was them and the Yo-Yo's back in the (late 90's I believe). I can't remember why I passed or didn't go since I loved both bands, but that miss always eats at me.

Big Deal ... Anyone can do that! ... How about doing a LIVE remote show a la L.A. Guns, Junkyard and Little Caesar as featured on The Monsters of Rock Cruise website.

H*ll, if they can do something unique and special like that, certainly a “big” band like Metallican’t can!

I've seen a lot of tribute acts do live online shows ... Hairbanger's Ball live from the Whiskey a Go Go was a highlight, but also "that arena rock show", "departure" and "sixteen candles" were great.

Other than the first one which was $10 bucks to see, the rest was all free though the bands did advertise they were taking donations. They need it.

Of major acts, the Dropkick Murphy's show from Fenway Park was amazing, and Brad Paisley did a full show with production and full band online which was cool. Both of those were free.

I hear ya MB. All these bands act like they are really releasing something special. We can go on YouTube and watch shows from any and every era of most of the bands that are doing this. How about recording & releasing something you’ve just done?

I hear you both, Metalboy! and Bkallday. But I am not sure we want to hear something that 'Tallica has just recorded. Without all those missing riffs from Kirk, things just haven't been the same for them. So how about some sweet a** Lulu outtakes? You know, the ones that really harken back to the Masters-era 'Tallica? Heck, even pictures of Lars playing tennis. You know, the really deep dive into the band that still slays on stage and brings it.

With my tongue placed firmly in my cheek, I stand by those comments. Really. I do. I mean, really.

I admit, I don't care much for 'Tallica nowadays. But I give them this: they do a lot of good with their All Withing My Hands charity foundation. The people they are helping surely need it. So, though I rag on them (they can't win with fickle fans like me who wish it was still the 80s), I appreciate the fact that they use their influence and financial clout to make some lives better. Kudos,'Tallica. No irony and no sarcasm.
