Bret Michaels Goes FUNKO

Do you think 200 years from now, our ancestors will look at all the junk in landfills and wonder what the heck was wrong with all of us? To that end FUNKO! Pop is releasing new Bret Michaels dolls. The bandana-man comes out in March. I know people who love these little figurines. Not my wheelhouse, but people can spend their money however they wish. I'm shaking my head at the "horns up." It is, after all, Bret's standard photo pose.

It must be the end of times, because I am going to opine on this (or, perhaps, as some of you are probably thinking, when has Him not said something about anything?!?!).

Personally, I find these Funko thingamajigs to be odd. Then again, they are only $11 dollars, so to each his/her own. And I have a Lemmy one that was a gift from a friend. It is in my office (meaning: the other tent by the river where I have pieces of cardboard shaped liked a fax machine, cell phone, and computer). When done well, I actually prefer the Super7 ReAction figures (an inch shorter and $7 more). When they are done well (Venom, Slayer, Ghost) they are great and actually look like something from when some of us were kids. When they are done poorly (Rob Halford, most of the Evil Dead ones, etc.) they are also odd and cringe-inducing.

Also personally, I have a huge assortment of action figures that I play with in my backyard (meaning: sticks and twine that I have in the dirt lot behind my two tents).

@Him. I’m going to start a Gofundme to upgrade you from a tent to a “van down by the river”. Maybe you could take up motivational speaking then....

I love the Funko Pop figures, but I'm going to pass on modern-day Bret. If it was a vintage Poison Bret, then I'd be all about it (along with CC, Rikki, and Bobby, of course). The only music-related Pops I currently have include Tommy Lee, Duff McKagan, maybe Axl Rose (can't remember for sure), and Wayne and Garth (they count for music, right?) The majority of my Pops are related to He-Man.

Gary, I agree to your terms! I think I have the skills to motivate a lot of people . . . to avoid reading my comments. But that's a start, right?

JT, why can't you remember which toys you have. I am going to guess. These are toys in the attic? Toys? Toys? In the attic? Toys?

Shaun, Lance Armstrong was so powerful he didn't need to stretch. Oh wait. I missed your point. My bad.

Him, if only I had an attic! Most are in a storage shed right now, only a few are on a shelf in my office. We are preparing to move so a bunch of stuff is packed away. And I can't remember exactly what I have because I have too much. But at $11 a "POP!" it's hard to pass it up if it brings back good memories.

Now I gotta go listen to some Aerosmith! :)

True enough, JT. True enough. Memories are hard won and good to keep around. You do yours! And I think we can both agree, attic or not, that that's the era where Aerosmith truly reigned.

And Shawn (not that you care), my apologies for misspelling your name.
