My Favorite Pop Songs Of All Time

TGIF! Today, the album An Evening With Silk Sonic is out! Bruno Mars & Anderson.Paak are Silk Sonic - the debut album is going to be huge. This just has me in the mood to listen to and write about pop music. I love the irony in the song and video below!

"Smokin' Out The Window"

Woman cannot live on Glam metal and metalcore alone and sometimes I like to listen to pop music while exercising. Some of my favorite pop songs go all the way back to my childhood. The stuff I listened to regularly back then is still on my playlist today. The tracks below are not in any particular order - I just genuinely love them and wanted to share with you. Maybe you will discover something new.

New Radicals - You Get What You Give

Montell Jordan - This Is How We Do It

Mariah Carey - Honey

Paramore - Ain't It Fun

The Cast of 'Rent' - Seasons of Love

Prince & The New Power Generation - 7

Britney Spears - Circus

Michael Jackson - You Rock My World

Maxwell - Ascension (Don't Ever Wonder)

3LW - No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)

Warren G and Nate Dogg - Regulate

Big Pun - Still Not a Player

Bruno Mars - 24k Magic

Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls

George Michael - Freedom (90)

Boy Meets Girl - Waiting For A Star To Fall

Love that you post your love of all music on this site, Allyson. After all, it is _your_ site!

Can't say we share a lot of the same interests outside of metal. But I do like me some Pet Shop Boys. And Prince and the NPG did release some tasty tracks, with "Thunder" and "Cream" being my favorites. The rest of the list? Well, like I said, not really my cup of tea. Then again, I blame my dad for my love of Charlie Pride! So who am I to cast aspersions?

Enjoy your Friday everyone!

Crued, I certainly know the song "Darling Nikki." Solid song and caught a lot of young lads and lasses attention primarily because of the "m" word. Then again, I like to macerate my cherries before I put them in an Old Fashioned for guests. But that is another subject!

And the Foos seem like decent blokes. Good cover too. Just can't get into them for some reason (and I have seen them live). I actually prefer Hawkins' Chevy Metal cover band! Go figure?

I certainly know the song "Waiting for a Star to Fall." And those clips from the ghosts of 80s-past are fun. But that song, like so many others, just sorta' fades out and away when it comes to my ears. There was so many better pop songs back then that I would prefer to listen to over that one. Case in point: OMD. And, no, not the obvious one(s). I prefer "The Native Daughters of the Golden West." Majestic sound (even if McCluskey sings like he is still waiting for puberty to hit!) and icy lyrics. Heck, I'd even prefer to listen to The Northern Pikes, though my favorite _Snow in June_, is on the border, being released in 1990.

Thanks, though, for the trip down memory lane. Always nice to visit.
