This Should Be Universal Law

And yes, this is a real school account!
The 8th grader who said “I thought Nirvana was a clothing brand,” last week has been suspended indefinitely.

We recognize this incident has proven upsetting to some members of the Gen X community. We will be gathering to heal together. All are welcome to bring a flannel shirt, @drmartens, a yellow Discman with minimum 30 seconds of skip protection, and an all around dour demeanor.

but i do understand the thought of a nirvana shirt being confused with affliction or ed hardy. again, teach your children the basics at least, until they can name at least 3 songs from the band they wear (which should be a federal law).
I have kids come in wearing def Leppard, iron maiden,Beatles,ac/dc even kiss shirts and have no clue who they are!!!

Drats! … That last one’s a KISS cover!
Looks like I’m suspended!
p.s. Absolutely priceless, Stu, putting the NIRVANA shirt on the same rack as Ed Hardy and Affliction T-shirts, true badges of mediocrity, if there ever were ones! … It reminds me of Goth girls I occasionally see in my town wearing MISFITS shirts … I always tell them I saw the original line-up with Jerry Only and Danzig playing in a Brooklyn loft space in ‘80 … Their reaction is always something along the lines of “Really?”, giving me the distinct feeling they have no idea what the h*ll I’m talking about! … And let’s not forget Britney Spears donning a a Von Dutch trucker cap … Do we really think ever had a clue who he was?
