Metallica Announce Super Bowl Show

Metallica will play live on a special edition of Stephen Colbert's show right after the Super Bowl this Sunday night. This will be something fun to watch after the big game! I wish Metallica was the halftime show, but alas, it was not meant to be. This year we get The Weeknd. It could be worse, I guess.
We’re celebrating the #SuperBowl with our friend @stephenathome on Sunday! Tune in to @colbertlateshow’s “A Late Show: Super Bowl Edition” at 11:35pm EST on CBS to catch our performance. #LSSC #LateShow pic.twitter.com/uis4RaAIyb

Personally, at this point, if Colbert pulled out a tape deck and played "The Call of Ktulu" I'd likely be just fine. You can only ride the lightning for so many years.
Could it be worse Allyson? Could it really? I can't imagine.
How about some Miley Cyrus? or maybe Kanye West? Or maybe Drake?
I actually took my son to a Weeknd show few years back and it was actually really good. He is a great singer (sounds like Michael Jackson in some songs) and he puts on a good show.
Sure, i would rather have Metallica do the half time show, but compared to previous shows, this won't be as bad. Better than last year, despite the cougar nudity with JLo and Shakira.
Gallogs, it could be worse. It could be Week[e]nd at Bernie's II!!!
Rita, not a fan of the Weeknd (or should it not include the "the"?). I get mad that he dropped that 'e' like it was a virus!!! But I do give him performative props for his bandage stunt. His reasoning? Well, he is challenging "the absurd culture of Hollywood celebrity and people manipulating themselves for superficial reasons to please and be validated." That's cool by me, even if there is a problem with the logic of challenging things when you are inside things and are doing so to move units. But, again, I give him props. That is right out of the Alice, WASP, etc. playbook. And I say that recognizing that said playbook has been used by many other genres besides metal. Stirring things up a bit is interesting to me, even if I don't dig the sound of the person doing the swizzle-stick.
