I Won't Lie: I'm Jealous

I'm jealous of him, but good for Rachel Bolan. He just got his first COVID-19 vaccine shot. Big news from the CDC this morning, too. There are new guidelines about fully vaccinated people being able to gather without masks. I can almost hear the overpriced ticket printing machine at Ticketmaster headquarters revving up.

I found myself contemplating how feasible it would be to take a trip every month once vaccinated. I determined that this wouldn't be financially or environmentally responsible, but I did enjoy the fantasy of jumping on a plane constantly and just going somewhere... for fun and with careless abandon again. You have to think concert venues are going to require vaccines - at least at first. Seeing our beloved musicians get those vaccines just makes live shows seem a little more closer, doesn't it?

good for bolan and mick mars and all the rest getting the vaccine. the thought of masking up for a concert sucks. having to show proof of vaccination at the door will be like getting carded all over again. guess it’s the price we’ll have to pay.

Proof of vaccination card, print out on the internet, put a date, fake a signature, etc... Not much proof. It's a simple piece of paper.

I'm jealous too. Canada has really messed up its vaccination program and we are almost dead last in country rankings for vaccination distributions.

I want to live again and this sounds like the best way to move back to some semblance of normal life. At least the risk of severe illness and death would be vastly reduced.

I would take one today if I could.

@Rita. C’mon, what’s life w/o some severe illness and death amongst friends? 😂😂😂. I kid of course. Hope everything is ok up there in the Great White North. (You got killer beer and legal weed. I guess they can’t be too bad. Lol ) Hang in, the shits been hitting the fan that long now ya gotta think the end is near. If not, I suggest you refer to my previous comment in the quotations marks...😂

Thanks Gary. Ha ha. Yes, i suppose you're right. Things could be a lot worse. Just getting a bit antsy, as most of us are by this point.

Hopefully we are back to having good times again soon. We all need it.

Just got appointments scheduled yesterday for my wife, mother-in-law and myself. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel! Stay vigilant, everyone! We're gonna get there!

The light is there, in Canada, in the US, and elsewhere. Bungled roll-outs will give way to smoother ships and pricks (not sure if that sounds right).

But . . .

We still have to mind ourselves and think of others. Our ability to play is still circumscribed by our responsibility to protect the rest of the population. So masks will still be a thing for awhile. Respectfully, GNR, faking proof is lying to yourself and putting others in harm's way. I know that will past muster for some. For me? I will enjoy a concert with a mask if that is what is needed, just so other can do the same . . . long after that concert is over (and even if they think I am being a dolt for doing it).

I won't speak to my fears about the upcoming Spring Break (or the news that is coming out in advance of it). What I will say is this: I hope everyone is doing well, staying safe, and finding ways to let that light at the end of the tunnel shine on them and those they love.
