The Tour Floodgates Are Opening...

I've been seeing lots of tour news on social media the past 72 hours or so. To me, this means the tour floodgates are opening! The Dead Daisies just announced their "Get Out Of The House" tour and I'm here for it.

There are lots of Midwest dates, including Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. There are also dates in Tennessee and Florida.

With no agenda and no hint of taking swipes, I have to say that I have been following this news as well. And it seems that most of the dates thus far (and I am generalizing) are clustered on the Eastern side of these somewhat United States. Even Genesis (you know, that band that Peter Gabriel used to be in?) is avoiding the Left Coast like their career depended on it!

All of which is great for those venues and their employees. But it is another crushing blow for the same who happen to live, again, towards the Western side of this place (save, of course, in places like Idaho, Montana, certain parts of Oregon and Washington . . . you catch my drift). Not trolling; just observing.

I'd give my eye teeth (funny phrase, as it relates to the length of a canine/cuspid's roots . . . this site is surely educational!) to be at a show. But when will I show up at a show? Your guess is as good as mine. Place your bets . . .

You are not far off, Crued. I love Marilyn Hanson. "The Beautiful MMMBop" stands as one of the greatest songs ever written or performed. Creepy . . . and catchy!

@Him I hear you. I'm in Ontario (Canada) and it's doubtful we'll get any tours this summer at all. It's obviously great to see tours firing up again, but definitely a little bittersweet from my vantage point.

That said, vaccinations are finally starting to reach good levels and new-infection numbers are heading in the right direction, so who knows?

Bryon, I hope things trend in the right direction for everyone!

It would be lovely to have the floodgates open in more places, here and in Canada and elsewhere. But I think we are going to be dealing with these truncated openings for the next few (many?) months. And, fingers crossed, those openings lead to more of them. I'd hate to see a back-slide. And I hope, truly hope, that doesn't happen.
