Farewell Jeff LaBar
Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 08:26PM
This is some lousy news. Cinderella guitarist Jeff LaBar has died. No cause of death has been released and his son made the announcement on social media.
Honestly, this one is a shock and seemingly comes out of left field. At the time of this writing, there's been no official statement from anyone in the Cinderella camp.

Take care of yourselves and those you love, as we truly never know when our last day is.

I had several interactions with him on The Monsters of Rock Cruises over the years and saw their last 2 shows, which also happened to take place on one of those cruises.
During the very last show, Tom Kiefer called out Le Bar, who was noticeably drunk or f*cked up in some sort of way - “lit”, as it were, as he twice leaned his head on Kiefer’s chest during the second set …
Regardless, I thought they still sounded flawlessly excellent. But, apparently not so, for Kiefer, as he called out Jeff in what was to become his farewell speech to the crowd, though I don’t think he realized that’s what it was at the time.
Kiefer: I just wanted to take a moment to thank all the fans who supported us over the last 30 plus years. You mean the world to us. In all those 30 years, I want you all to know, Cinderella never once “mailed it in”, right Jeff?”, motioning over to Le Bar, as if to insinuate Le Bar wasn’t playing to his fullest ability that night.
And while that may be true, I can tell you in no uncertain terms, Cinderella sounded a h*lluva lot better than Kiefer’s solo efforts have or ever will.
So, no matter what Kiefer thought at that time, Le Bar was and forever will be 1/4 of one of The Greatest Hair Metal Bands of All Time and no one will ever be able to take that away from him.
You’re finally out of Tom’s shadow, Jeff … May You Rest In Peace!
