Def Leppard Announces Limited Edition 'Pyromania' Merch

From the company Collectionzz, Def Leppard just launched a limited edition run of Pyromania era merch, including a patch and tour screenprint (poster). I share because I know a few of you have jean jackets with band patches. Looks like the poster is $75, so not cheap! There are only 200 of them and they are hand signed by the artist.

Scrolling through artists, I noticed Motley Crue is listed. There are a lot of nice posters featuring them back in the 80s.

I know I am an old fogey, but what is up with company names these days? Collectionzz?!?!? Why not something edgier, like, say, CLKTSHNZr? I added the 'r' because it seems like a lot of companies, particularly tech ones, love that little flourish.

I also occasionally, because I am an old fogey, wonder about the idea behind new retro old swag. So this is just stuff that looks vintage, right? Fair enough. And at least the company got the artist, Ghoulish Gary Pullin, to wax nostalgic about what inspired this new, not vintage, poster. Heck, he was all of twelve at the time. But he likes demin!

To be fair, truly, Collectionzz looks like it puts out a good product (and good for you, Ghoulish Gary Pullin!!!). And they do retro inspired posters of The Crue, The Doors, etc., etc.

But I do cringe at the bold-face on each and every page of their site: ALL SALES ARE FINAL THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES! Really? What if it arrives damaged? And I know that is a nitpick, but seriously? If you stand by your fairly well-price, fantasy, reproductions of things that never existed (though you make sure to sign them, provide a holographic sticker to guarantee that they are new old never before seen prints, and even go to the trouble of printing them on (in some cases) French Cream Stock paper (!?!?!), that still sounds like, well, once it is out your door, it on the purchaser. Seems iffy to me.

Then again, according to their press, "Collectionzz launched in 2015 by a small group of music memorabilia collectors who wanted the ability to share their collections with each other virtually." Then they ventured into producing non-virtual, non-collectible (sorta'), retro spins on older acts. Sounds good to me!

Oh, and just to correct something: it is ICONIC (not ironic) by Collectionzz. And "ICONIC works with the finest illustrators across different genres of art to bring collectors unique, limited edition and collectible screenprints that properly honor ICONIC moments in music history.' I mean, that is the truth. That is their press. And to think you could but reproductions (fakes, as it were) of real old school posters on eBay, Amazon, etc., right now. Why bother, right? I bet they aren't printed on French Cream Stock paper!
