Rock Fest Announces Lineup For 2022
Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 01:21PM
Rock Fest happens every summer in Cadott, Wisconsin. There will be over 70 bands at the event this July. Three-day ticket holders can access a special "kick-off" night featuring Glam acts like Lita Ford, Warrant and Firehouse. Honestly, that pre-fest night looks the best to me of all the days, but I would like to see Escape The Fate again. Tickets are still available, but VIP is sold-out.

VIP is the only way to go with the endless Leinenkugel's !!
At first I thought “is our glam rock revival losing some steam?” But then I thought “Nah, just look at Rok Island, and we’re a-OK!!!” 🤘🤘🤘
Can you imagine it's 1984, you are going to see the American Rock Festival: Ratt, Accept, Night Ranger, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ozzy, and Triumph, and having to sit through Bill Haley's Comets / Perry Como / Lawrence Welk on opening night? Of course Bill Haley is dead but they got the guy who sang on The Platters' 70s albums in the band now, and he does it justice.
How about Ozzfest 1997 with Ozzy / Marilyn Manson / Pantera / Type O Negative / Fear Factory / Machine Head / Powerman 5000 / Coal Chamber... and featuring Jefferson Airplane, The Kinks and Procol Harum (the second version featuring their original bass player)?
These trends always come back 20 years after the fact for a big bout of nostalgia and then it runs it's course. We saw Alice In Chains, Soundgarden etc have their big comebacks through the 2010's, and now even the '90s revival is over.
Case in point, the "When we were young" festival just announced in Vegas: My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Avril Lavine, Jimmy Eat World, The Used etc... that's essentially a Rocklahoma for people whose favorite albums were released in 2001. Now if we can just get a pre-party with REO Speedwagon, Air Supply and Christopher Cross...
Let's face it: our music is close to being toast, tour-wise.
And I experienced this decades-plus ago when I went to an Ozzfest and realized that I didn't know, or care to know, the majority of the bands. Thank goodness I was at the one where Bill Ward was slamming on the kit, shirt off and in shorts, looking like he might explode from the exertion!
