'Comfortably Numb 2022'

We didn't ask for it, but Roger Waters has released a new version of the Pink Floyd classic "Comfortably Numb." Appropriately called "Comfortably Numb 2022," the song is a reimagined take on the original and definitely darker. This new version is in A Minor and there is no long guitar solo that made the original so famous. The original has David Gilmour playing the guitar, so of course the solo is awesome.
I think I like this new version. It is definitely a whole different mood and probably good for Waters and his tours. Of course, I would like it better if Waters and Gilmour would just get along and play the real version together, live, but whatever. That probably won't happen.

But this song also points to how he is always so interested in talking about the wreck that Floyd had become, only to find himself releasing albums (some of which I liked) that people didn't get, didn't like, or didn't buy (even if they got it) . . . and then going on his merry way doing various iterations of the songs that made him famous in the first place! Oh, and he has some political views as well. Just found out about that.
No one has ever suggested that Waters is an easy person with which to deal. But no one can doubt the impact that the band he was once in had at one point in time. I don't expect or need to see the remaining members reform. And I doubt it would be that good, save if attached to some charity about which they could all agree.
Fancy a saucerful of songs to use as a bathroom break, govn'r? Wait? Is that a dog barking? Zip!
