Dolly Parton Is All Class, True Queen

Dolly Parton was part of this year's nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This morning, she pulled herself out of contention for voting because she didn't feel like she'd "earned the honor." She says that someday she hopes to make a rock album and I bet we would all love it! I have to disagree with Dolly, though. I think she's earned the honor and should be inducted! So many people in the Hall have done way less for popular music (and the world, in general) than Dolly. She remains Queen of us all.

Dolly Parton declined a nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, saying she is not yet "worthy" and doesn't want to split votes for other nominees.

This should be the catalyst for the renaming of the R&R Hall of Fame to just the Music Hall of Fame. There's no question she belongs in a Hall of Fame, but her openness about the R&R part should be taken seriously. Too many acts have been inducted over the years that have no business being in a true R&R HOF. We all know it's a joke of an organization and the correct route would be to change the name and just have various wings in the building for each different style of music represented.
