Applebee's Uses KISS Music In New Campaign

Nothing says rock n' roll like... Applebee's. I guess.

KISS music is used in the restaurant chain's new advertising campaign. "Rock and Roll All Nite" is the song of course. The campaign is because cheap appetizers are back for late night. I remember going to Applebee's for late night apps when I was in grad school. Seemingly being awake all the time and broke - the ad does bring back some memories. Gene Simmons cashes another check!

Half-price appetizers?!?!? Not something I think that KISS would endorse. Wait. Who am I kidding? If any band knows about loss leaders, it's KISS.

"You wanted the best, but you waited a bit too long. So here's some fun carnival stuff and a few vocal tracks to get you going. Please visit the snack bar and the merch booth."

Not as catchy. A bit more honest. So, yes, this is the perfect match of brand to brand. You gotta' sell something to someone. KISS wins again.

And Applebee's fans get to rock and roll over after eating something fried. Those tears might be falling. But you purchased the Double Crunch Bone-In Wings. You licked them up. Now you have to ugh! all night. Perhaps Kiss will sell you some Destroyer sani-wipes? Not a thing . . . yet.

=============

Mind-trip idea: what if Applebee's wrote a catchy song for Rock & Brews? "Sometimes you want to go, where no one sings a single thing." Apologies to Cheers.

I don't know much about copyright laws, but I do know enough to realize EVERY SINGLE TIME the commercial plays, whomever owns the copyrighget paid dead serious money.
That's why you only get that little bit.
If you love the song, I would encourage you to listen to the full song. Rock on!
Now once the song enters public domain, then it's all bets are off.

This is why you very rarely see the big names (Elvis, The Who, Queen, Beatles to name a few) on compilation albums. Because it's so dang expensive. I believe the earliest Elvis songs will be in public domain soon (assuming Pricella doesn't do anything).
