Scorpions Release 'Hammersmith' Lyric Video

"Hammersmith" is the newest single from The Scorpions. The band just released a lyric video to promote the track. The Scorps latest album is called Rock Believer and "Hammersmith" is on it - if you buy the UK edition. Perhaps this is a way for The Scorpions to sell more copies of the same album by slicing up track availability by country and forcing fans to rebuy the same record? It's an interesting choice indeed.

well … that was something. at least i don’t have to rush out and buy any version of this album. never liked the lyric video idea, but thank god this was one because klaus was channeling vince neil.

That song is all over the place, in pacing, phrasing, just everything. That's not a very good song.

The visualizer is oddly hypnotic. Or am I odd?

Stu and Jeff, thanks for those comments. I was already suspicious when they said this was going to be a throwback album. Then I heard the songs. They lied. Well, sorta'. They are old guys now. The idea that they could get the magic back has been, time and again, proven wrong. Even the shiny sheen of their late-80's/early-90's output would be better. But, then again, they might need to get a certain Zee German back in the fold. Amazing what happens when you lose certain people (no disrespect to the current man behind the kit).

And Matthias Jabs' recent comments about their current popularity are another sign that perhaps, just perhaps, they should have heeded their initial idea to say farewell several years ago. Meine is still amazing. Their stage show still seems good. But, really? Now they are just going to "Rock You Like the Winds of Change." Hard pass.
