Metallica, 'Screaming Suicide' -- New Video

Metallica has a new video from their upcoming album 72 Seasons. The video is for "Screaming Suicide" and it is an attempt by the band to openly talk about a taboo subject. The song is a rocker, that's for sure. James Hetfield shares a personal message about the song below:

A worthwhile topic to discuss. And the visibility that Metallica can bring to said topic is appreciated.

A real rocker though? Not exactly.

But, again, considering how many have been lost in metal to suicide--no less in other areas of endeavor (consider Rebecca Lorch's passing last month--it is nice to see a well-regarded band shining some light on a darkness that haunts many, many people. Well done.

The biggest metal band in the world shedding light on this is very commendable. And yes, this song is a banger along with the first single that was released. This album is going to be great. Can't wait for the full release....and to hear the whiners complain about Lars and his drum sound

“A real rocker”? Surely you jest? This song is one of the worst Metallica songs that I’ve ever heard. This song and the other new one make load, reload, & st anger, seem like absolute classics. Even Lulu looks at this garbage with much contempt and sadness. I have every cd they’ve ever put out but I will not be getting this crap. If the rest of the cd sounds like the first two singles, it will be the most rotten album they’ve ever dropped! And tbh, everything they’ve released up until now, with their brand on it, has been from amazing to very good, at worst imo. But this will stop that little streak. Sadly.

This makes me wanna commit Harry Carey. Won’t say the word cuz I respect Metallica’s efforts for those afflicted and I deplore societies segmentation of mental health apart from health. The stigma shines brightly. Anyway I like the Lux song don’t like this one. Enjoy your day
