Buckcherry Release New Party Song

As we head toward spring and warmer weather, Buckcherry is back with a party song. Aptly called "Good Time," the track is on the upcoming album Vol. 10, due in June. To me, the song sounds like throwback Buckcherry and I mean that in a good way. Like, the band is back to just making straight-ahead party songs and we need more of that these days. What do you think?

Pure Buckcherry! And yes, I mean that in a good way. They're playing with Skid Row (or what passes for Skid Row these days) about 5 minutes from my house on Sept 8th. I think I'm gonna go. Should be fun. I had tickets for Buckcherry a few years ago, but I didn't make it to the show. I was um... a bit dehydrated that day. Oh well.

Let's call it what it is: The Josh Todd Experience, featuring the 'Cherries. And this sounds just fine. He's not over-thinking it. In fact, he is recycling. And recycling is good for the environment, right? And the video is enjoyable, doing its 'bro' thing. More to the point: Todd is a monster live. This would likely fit right in with the rest of his songs in concert. I can see this in the rotation sometime sooner than soon.

Funny thing is, I can hear this song--with just slightly altered lyrics, a change in the musical accompaniment (obviously), and a different vocalist--being an alt-country hit. Why? Because it is packaged to be an everywhere/all-the-time sorta' song. And that is a genre-resistant trend these days. Seriously, listen to this song and think of the country version of it. It ain't too hard to do. Heck, that last sentence would be a good title for a song too! Maybe a certain someone who has a bandana needs to ask Todd for some help with writing his 'feel good' songs.

And I will continue to sing Todd's praises for his reworking of Icona Pop. Wonderful!
