Extreme Announce New Album, Single
Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 12:01AM
Extreme Six will be released June 9. The first single from the album is called "Rise" and the band dropped a video for it yesterday.
Nuno Bettencourt + an electric guitar = perfection. Seriously, does not disappoint!
You can pre-order Six now via Extreme's website. One of the options is a 180gram special edition vinyl.

Talented musicians. Nuno has it, Mr. Peterson. Indeed. Though he occasionally comes off in interviews like he is a long lost scribe/visionary/genius that everyone--and I mean, EVERYONE--desperately wants to hear from. Cherone has the pipes . . . and those darned odd moves. He is starting to look like Uncle Saul at the family BBQ after one too many (rays of sun streaming through his hair). Geary is missed (but I bet he ain't missing it). And Figueiredo does just fine for this sort of song. Methinks Badger is always overlooked, even if he is the one that supplies some of the depth on their classic(?!) songs. I mean, it was Badger who put the funk in the aforementioned ditty, right?
Perhaps this song is a hint at the broader palette that Extreme always brought to the table. Then again, that is one thing that sorta' put them in a no-place position originally (save for the diabetes-inducing ballad, ahem). I started to lose interest after 3STES. But I have always given these guys a listen.
So, who knows? Wish them well. And, with proper medical care, Cherone can learn how to move about the stage without looking like he is making out with himself, while waving, and also pointing to a passing comet, as he pats himself on the back (or otherwise).
"Saudades de Rock" was a great record and I listened to it a lot 15 years ago. I can't believe it has been out that long. I hope it's not another 15 years before we get more music from these guys after "Six."
