Extreme, 'Other Side Of The Rainbow' -- New Track

Extreme will release Six on June 9. That new album features the track "Other Side of the Rainbow" and the band just released a video to support the song. Interestingly, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt directed and edited the video below as well.

so far this new album is much better than the last couple. and i love the return to the mtv-era short-form videos.

Stu, I think I tend to agree with you on this one. While I miss some of the dorkier stuff from their early career, this is seeming--more and more--like a purchase I will make. They seem to have made a solid, and contemporary, Extreme album. Good for them.

Two quick-takes though. Did Cherone suffer a head injury? And does anyone else find Nuno to be a bit, well, cloying (at least in interviews)?

I've already got the whole album, and it is quite good. I never much cared for Extreme in the 80s or 90s. they have gotten so much better with age, and Cherone has discovered a high vocal range that he never really showed off when he was younger, and it brings a new dimension to their sound. "Beautiful girls" is a fun, slightly Latin-inspired acoustic track that brings a cool diversity to the record. definitely one of the better releases of 2023 so far.
