Miljenko Matijević Of Steelheart Health Update

Some news from the Steelheart camp: apparently singer Miljenko Matijević suffered a heart issue (Patent Foramen Ovale) and is now recovering. That means upcoming Steelheart shows are on hold. This seems like some scary stuff so I wish Miljenko well. Also, I wonder if this will impact the Tesla/Steelheart show I'm seeing August.

Hmm. There are a lot of jokes one could make about his heart of steel. But I will defer. I hope Matijević gets better soon.

Thing is, we all have this hole, but it usually closes when we are barely beyond the mom gates. And it usually poses no risks if it stays open, unless you are stroke-inclined or likely to clot like English cream. So, I wonder if either of those two factors are at play and/or if this was something that was being monitored or instead suddenly posed problems that had been heretofore not been diagnosed. Thankfully, the treatment is about as risky as getting a stent (or two).

Regardless, I do wish him well. As a person with some heart-related issues (see above), I am glad that both he and I are living in this day and age. Heck, add Richie Faulkner to my list too! We've come a long way in recent decades. And, while it it true that I know many a heartless person who lives and thrives, you simply can't live without one!

Okay, so I was curious. Given that, I looked up the situation. Here's what I found:

"A note from SteelHeart Management: Miljenko Matijević will be postponing some upcoming tour dates due to complications from a recent surgery. Following the surgery, doctors found a hole in his heart, known as a PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale). Much like those of Bret Michaels (Poison) and Hailey Baldwin-Bieber, the PFO caused a mini-stroke. The good news is that his physicians caught it in time, and his health and overall condition are improving steadily."

So it was not previously diagnosed and it did cause a stroke.Glad that said stroke ended up being a blessing, as it meant they could do the cauterization procedure and close that bad boy up! Again, hoping he heals quickly.
