Buckcherry Covers Bryan Adams

I have never been a big fan of Bryan Adams but I will concede "Summer of '69" is a great song. It always makes me smile and gives me a warm feeling (yes, that sounds sappy).

I find it interesting that Buckcherry chose to cover the song and I probably said as much when the track listing was announced. The cover is on the band's most recent album Vol. 10. that came out earlier this summer. Now there's a video for the track and you can see it below.

just a good ol’ rockin’ cover there. i’ve never bought an album from this band, though i’ve seen them live a few times, but everything they do is just a fun little rock song. and i like the video, reminds me of the ‘80s mtv days.

I saw Bryan Adams in concert about nine or ten years ago. He sounded absolutely amazing live and he even opened his set with "Reckless" which is a relative obscurity considering it hadn't been released until the 30th anniversary edition of the "Reckless" album. As great as he and his band sounded, he was acting pretty obnoxious that night; starting crap with the security people for trying to move fans back who were pushing toward the stage. He threatened to stop the show at one point. I know some security people can be overly agressive, but that wasn't the case this night. Buckcherry's cover is cool for what it is. Buckcherry's first album back in '99 or whatever blew my head off. It was so refreshing to hear a really fun hard rock record after all the depressing grunge and dark new metal that had been shoved down our throats for so many years.

OH, and I forgot to mention that the song "Reckless" is what became "Dangerous" by Loverboy.

I just saw Bryan a few months ago in Cleveland. I know everyone ages differently and takes care of their body differently, but he sounded absolutely amazing. No recorded tracks or tricks, just a full live band and great songs. Was great to see him in a (mostly) full arena again.
