40 Years Of 'Shout At The Devil'

Forty years ago today, Motley Crue released Shout At The Devil. To celebrate this milestone, Motley just released a new lyric video for the song "Hotter Than Hell." That is the demo that eventually became "Louder Than Hell" and is included on the 1985 release Theatre of Pain.

The demo is part of the band's "super-deluxe "40th anniversary SATD boxset that is due out October 27. (Why wasn't it released today for the anniversary? No idea).

Shout At The Devil is an absolute classic and must-own for every 80s Metal fan. The album alone is probably why we are all here on this site, talking Glam bands so many years later.

This song does not sound like the previously released version that was part of the SATD expanded remaster from years ago. The guitar parts are most likely newly recorded John 5 tracks. So sad.

i’m so tired of buying the same albums over and over and over and over and over and over and over … wait that that two many overs. but you get the point - that i’m not buying (or buying into) this re-remaster. no reason to doubt batlizzard, but i hope this is not a re-dubbing, that would just be sad considering i really dug mick’s parts on this tune originally - and remasterally.

Although their first album is def more “glam”, this album was metal af. A classic that to this day is still considered groundbreaking! I understand why anyone would be tired of all the re releases and stuff but at least we all have a choice whether we buy them or not.

This is still to this day, my favorite all time album. Not one bad song and their look at the time was flat out outstanding. Idk that I will ever get this but if they do a tour to commemorate the album, and play it front to back, bet your ass that I’ll be there & so will plenty of others!!! 🤘🏼

Wasn’t aware they’d decided to change the lyrics to “Some like it ha-2 than hell” Some things are better left untouched. This is a prime example of that.
