Well Wishes For Guitarist Jake E. Lee

I definitely did a double-take last night when I saw the headline that Jake E. Lee had been shot while walking his dog in Las Vegas. The apparent random shooting happened in the middle of the night. 

Lee was shot three times and now we know he was hit in the chest, arm and foot. A bullet hit his lung but he is expected to make a full recovery.

As a Bandlands fanatic, this news was obviously very upsetting. Add in the apparent worthless gun violence and it is just maddening on a whole other level. 

When the news about Lee starting coming out - and seemingly everyone had the story, from the Associated Press to Breitbart - fellow musicians sent positive messages. Here are a few:

Ozzy Osbourne has commented on the shooting of his former guitarist Jake E. Lee, calling the incident “another senseless act of gun violence.”

I could never get into Badlands but the albums he made with Ozzy are top notch! I’m glad it looks like he’s going to be ok, tho. Crazy that he was just walking his dog and then this happens.

I, too, heard the news as soon as it was reported and also went into mild shock.

I had the pleasure of witnessing up close, Lee and Red Dragon Cartel performing on The Monsters of Rock Cruise twice and he just killed it!

I only wish I had seen him back in the Ozzy and Badlands days … Listening to his guitar work on that stuff is amazing every time I listen to it!

Heading to YouTube now to see what I can find of Jake performing live with Ozzy and/or Badlands … I think I tried to find live stuff with Badlands before to no avail … If anything exists, I sure hope it comes out if it isn’t out there already!
