2024 Rock Hall Inductees Announced

Ozzy Osbourne as a solo artist (he's already in as a member of Black Sabbath), Foreigner, Peter Frampton and Cher are highlights from this class for me. It took Foreigner 22 years to get in - but they finally did! Lots of artists in this class had to wait a long time for the recognition. Glad to see some oversights corrected here.

I have to say, as the newly crowned infrequently-ish poster, that this made me both happy and sad.

Happy? Why? Because no one is saying a darn thing about something that doesn't really matter and never has mattered.

Sad? Why? I miss the tussle. I miss the errant comments. The non-sequiturs. The valiant attempts at making a case for the RaRHoF. Same, too, the others that slammed the mere idea of that place, space, and case.

So I will make a bid for something that does matter (and I know that this makes little sense given my current tendencies).

Are you reading this site? THEN POST. Worried? Don't be. Case in point: my real name isn't HIM. Another case in point: you can actually get to know some of the people behind the pen names. They are great people.

Do you know others who would love this site? THEN TELL THEM. What do you have to lose? And what do they have to gain?

Are you one of those people who attempted to use this site in the past simply to promote your own stuff, then said you didn't, and then vanished? THEN SHOW SOME GRACE AND POST OR TELL OTHERS ABOUT THE SITE. This one really grinds my gears (Peter Griffin). You basically got free advertising, made sheepish comments about being a long-time lover of this site, and the moved on. You are a grifter. Settle your debts by shining a light on a site that gave you some free promo (even if I most often called you out on it).

People, this site is a place that Allyson created for us. At a certain point in time, not too long ago, me not posting wouldn't have made much of difference, not that it does now. My point is, if you don't join the conversation, this place dies. And Allyson has other things to do that might (and I am not speaking for her on this) lead her to draw the conclusion that those things matter more than this site does (that has happened with other sites).

And my shouts are not paradoxical or contradictory. See what I have written. See what I have posted. I have taken breaks before. I am now sorta' doing it again.

But I don't take a break from reading this site and posting when it seems to me that it is needed.
