Michael Hutchence - 'One Way,' New Single
Friday, April 5, 2024 at 12:10PM
You read that headline correctly. There's a new(ish) single from Michael Hutchence called "One Way."
Hutchence was the lead singer of INXS and died back in 1997. The vocals were leftover from a recording session before Hutchence died and producer and audio engineer Danny Saber remixed and created the track. According to the information online, the track took about two decades to finish. The song was used for a documentary and now can be purchased on vinyl. Amazing.

Thing is, like many gifted and charismatic people, he was a tortured soul. Sure, the skull fracture incident probably contributed to his downward spiral. So, too, his relationship with Yates. And, while she might have been a sensation in the UK, she also contributed to the spurious whispers that haunt his death to this day. A shame, really.
RIP Hutchence. You left behind a solid body of work. More's the pity we don't have you around.
I bet legal was involved, no less the wait to release this when other product (documentary) was coming out. Either way, a nice chance to hear him again, even if it sounds clipped and cut (the chorus sounds like it is on auto-repeat).
