Extreme, 'Beautiful Girls' -- Official Video

This week, Extreme dropped their official video for the song "Beautiful Girls" from the album Six. It's definitely a laid back, summer tune. I like the nods to Eddie Van Halen and Van Halen in general in the song and vid, too (the kiss at the end!) There's also a reference to the 1990 Extreme track "When I First Kissed You" which was a nice touch. The video is also giving Beach Boys classic fun vibes too (especially with the band's styling) and the car choices. Love it all. Catchy as hell.

But, thing is, this song is a great example of why Extreme never hit the heights of some of their peers back in the day. All the chops (or more?). All the talent (and then some!). Great songs (that sometimes got complicated,lyrically especially).

But they are also a quirky group, natch, with songs that don't fit squarely into the pegs that people need/want/assume.

I love the vibe. Love the positivity. So, to whom should this be marketed? Yeah. Hmm. Thing is, at this point, they don't care and neither do those who like their music. So that is sorta' a win.
