Moggs Motel, 'Apple Pie' -- New Video

Phil Mogg has a new band called Moggs Motel. The band's self-titled debut is due September 6. Phil just shared the song "Apple Pie" from the album. It's what you would expect from the legendary UFO frontman!

There is a lot of potential here and I want to hear more!

Oh this is good to see and hear. Always liked Phil with UFO and glad he's moved past his health issues last year.
So we have this and the upcoming Schenker album.
All good... carry on :-)

But . . . why disband UFO? Just curious what this offers that they didn't, given what he said about disbanding them in the first place.

And, to be fair, he is a bit down in the mix and sounds somewhat weak. Which is understandable given his age and the things he has gone thought. But, again, why disband UFO? If the answer is "I wanted to do something different," that makes sense. However, that doesn't square with what I read about why they were stopping. Again, just curious.

The song? Interesting. Might even pick the album up, as I have always found UFO interesting (and admit to a strange love for the song "Night Run" off of Misdemeanor, which is not a great album overall).

Him, interesting question. My answer would be that, even in the side projects that Mogg has been involved with over the years, they still sound similar to UFO with a few stylistic tweaks here and there. Maybe that's just where he feels most comfortable. Having been in bands for most of my life, I can tell you that you never tell the public the truth about your private decisions, so it's not surprising that what you read may not line up with what really happened.

Bob, I appreciate that take on things. I have no doubt you are correct. We don't always get a peek behind the curtain, so to speak. You have. I have not. So, I defer to your nuance.

Again, appreciated.
