Bengal Tigers
My good friend Christian Graus recently air mailed me a lovely care package from Australia. It included many bags of Caramello koalas (!) plus some music, including Bengal Tigers Panic Clinic. The EP has six tracks:
Do It!
On the Leash
To the East
Body Heat
Evil Hour
On the Leash (extended)
Melbourne-based Bengal Tigers are classic heavy Metal in the vein of AC/DC or Judas Priest.
They've released seven albums over a very sporadic career and with many different members.
The Panic Clinic album is pretty good, if not uneven. The tracks are true to their form: straight up Metal with glam touches. If you're not familiar with Bengal Tigers, I'm not surprised. There is very little information about the band on the Internet...and American music fans may find it hard to track down the releases. Still, if you come across a Bengal Tigers album in a used bin, pick it up - you won't be sorry!

Christian, I wasn't aware that you were an Aussie, mate! My wife is from Adelaide so as soon as I saw Allyson got some Carmello Koala my mouth started watering! I'm stoked that there's another glam rock fan down under! Cheers!
Allyson, remember to put the Koalas in the fridge!
Enjoy.
I am sure you are wondering why a 15 year old girl knows so much about a famous but a long time ago band, but it just so happens that the drummer, Mike Egan, is my father. The band members including singer Gordan Heald, guitarist Barney Fakhouri and bass player Steve Tyler have all joined Mike at his home to play once more. We (the families) are all hoping that the band will make a big comeback just like the beatles!! Rock on Bengal Tigers!!
Pain Clinic was actually a 5 track EP released in 1995. This was followed by the album In The Blood in 1999. I played guitar on both the EP and and album. I have just posted some video footage of my stint with the band at the Richmond Tavern in 1995. Songs include Break and Bend, Evil Hour and Nailed to the Gun (Fight). Check out my stuff www.myspace.com/stonecutters-kpb I think copies of the EP and album are still available if interested email me (at my myspace site)
