So I Might Be In Love with Cinder Road

cinderroad.jpg

Let it be known here that I don't listen to a ton of new rock bands - the ones that catch my attention have to be damn good to get my business. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that I actually like Cinder Road.

The band recently opened for Tesla and is in Europe supporting Kiss right now. Apparently when Kiss tours America in a couple months, Cinder Road will again be in tow.

Cinder Road create arena-style rock, but are not annoying in that Daughtry sort of way. No, they are not "new heavy" like Bullet for My Valentine, but they certainly are "new pretty." I mean, seriously, did you look closely at the adjancent photo? The Glam gods bestowed good genes on every member of this band! So pretty...

There's a video now for the song "Get In, Get Out." No, Cinder Road is not as good as Lynam and their sound is certainly not unique, but it's pleasureable nonetheless. The download of the debt Superhuman is less than eight bucks on iTunes right now. It's the weekend: treat yourself to some new music. You know you want to. In the meantime, watch the video for "Get In, Get Out."

Yeah I really like them. I got their album, "Superhuman" a while back. Some really good tracks on their, my favorite is, "Should've Known Better".

Ally, These guys are from Baltimor and I know the guitarist...Pat Patrick (well his real name is Pat Dement) and he was actually in Kix for about a year right before Kix broke up in 1996. He toured on the show business album tour for Brian who had left the band at that point. Also the lead singer of Cinder Road, Mike Rucco was the bass player in another Baltimore band that mad it big a while ago called SR-71. Pat also played guitar in that group.
Anyway, very cool and good band!

One day someone outside of Scandinavia is going to grow some balls and dress more akin to their roots. They're relatively new and yet are already fashioned like a middle-aged glam band.. I'm so bored of the leather jackets and mid-length, semi-emo hair. They sound okay though. Quite similar, I think, to Hurricane Party AKA Roadstar AKA Heaven's Basement - not that I'm trying to pimp them too much.. :-P

I actually saw these guys in Cincinnati at a small dive when they were known as Plunge, not Cinder Road. And I gotta say that I was unimpressed. Just not my cup of tea I suppose.

Roadstar have changed name again ? Love those guys, and I agree, there's a similar 70s vibe here.

i saw them open for tesla and was also deeply unimpressed. as you said allyson their sound is not unique and to me they sound like everyone else. it even seems like they are putting on a performance of what they think will make them popular instead of just playing the kind of music they want to play. they have all the "rock" poses and cliches down and use them constantly. just not my thing i guess. by the way, the singer was in sum 41, he was the drummer or bassist.

LOVE them! Saw them with Tesla a few months back - they are awesome guys and hung out for shots and pictures after!

Tons of fun!

cool band, ill have to give em a check out.

Another band you will like if you like these is the UK equivilent.

Hurricane Party/Roadstar and what they are now known as "Heavens Basement" they are a band that should of been big and had hits but got screwed over everytime with label issues and name changes.

you ought to check them out, they really rock and are GREAT live.
