So Saxon is Doing Rocklahoma

Remember my Rocklahoma predictions article from the end of January? Click here if you don't recall. You'll notice I had Saxon on the list. (You'll also notice that I've been dead on so far, eh?) Last night, the English band confirmed for the third annual Rocklahoma. I've never seen Saxon, so I'm pretty excited - but again, this was no surprise. Saxon is also playing South Texas Rock Fest and Rock Gone Wild.

No, Saxon are not Glam. In fact, they are just about as far from it as you can get. Still, they are straight 80s Metal - and that's good enough for me. Their recent live clips are amazing. When I first learned they would be at Rocklahoma for sure, I headed right over to YouTube to check out some songs.

Here's the "Crusader" live at Wacken Open Air. Look at that crowd!

Awesome band who will hopefully turn this into at least a small tour. It's crazy that as good as the last half dozen albums have been that they never tour here (of course, people in the US have to wake up to how good they are first, I guess).

One of the only (if not THE only) bands that have been around for decades (about 30 years) and is actually releasing some of their best material EVER!! Wake up and smell the Metal America!!

Amen Jack! Saxon's been bringin' it hard for over 30 years, and their last two albums are phenomenal. I don't understand why they haven't caught on here in America. I'm really hoping the glam crowds get into Saxon at these festival shows. "where were you in '79 when the damn began to burst?"

When are they gonna announce the lineup for Rocklahoma 09? Last year it had been announced already and then added too, but this lineup looks a bit weak to really sell any tickets....Some good bands, but with the exception of Saxon, we have either seen or have had several chances to see the bands listed....HELP!!!

This years sidestage line-up is worth the price of admission alone.
Sam,

Please post as yourself. There's zero point in hiding your identity. We all know it's you.
