Axl Rose Thanks Fans, Goes Soft?

Axl Rose sent a “thank you” Tweet to fans yesterday. I don't know why, but the content strikes me as odd. There's nothing particularly riveting in the Tweet. I guess it just doesn't sound like “Axl” to me. Then again, he recently granted (a softball) interview to a reporter overseas. While that interview didn't result in any real news, maybe it signals a more approachable Axl Rose, which is nice. Here's the Tweet:

“I'd like to thank all our fans for coming out to the shows over the last year all over the world!! Was great to see you n' to be able to perform for you!!

I'd like to thank our fans on the web, the fan sites, n' all our fans on Twitter, Facebook n' Myspace.

I'd like to thank the band, their families, The Sebastian Bach Band, Danko Jones, Murder Dolls, Korn, Imperial State Electric, Julianna Down, Gum X, Mucc, their crews, the TPB's, Duff, our crew, production, staging, lights, sound, pyro, video, management, our business n' legal team, my family n' friends, the promoter's, agents, catering, security, the shot girlz, drivers, our travel agents n' the staffs at our hotels, trucking, airlines, flight crews, airport security, bus n' transportation companies, everyone who chose to say or write a nice word about us, the venues n' their staffs n' security, the countries, cities n' Customs all over the world, club owners, their staffs, club promoters, sponsors n' all of our friends around the globe who helped make things happen!!

I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas n' Happy New Year, Happy Hanukkah n' a great Holiday Season to everyone!!

And from everyone with Guns N' Roses:  All the best to you n' your's!!

Peace n' Love, Axl”

So, what do you think? Am I over-analyzing?

it looks pretty standard . i m hoping for a U.S. tour.if it happens. i bet Sebastian Bach is the opener.afew weeks back ashba mentioned a u s tour starting in feb. i hope hes right. i love chinese democracy. better and there was a time are some of my favorite songs . scrapped and riahad also are good songs. i ve been a fan since 88, i ve seen them afew times. i know everyone rips on axl for being the only original member, but what can you do . it is what it is.a reunion would be great, but i m not counting on it. i havent seen the new gnr in concert, except the you tube stuff and i think its pretty good. each show seems to be getting better. i hope they tour the U.S. soon..

Someone from his management team issued it. You and I both know that a statement like that would never come from Axl. Come on we are talking about Axl Rose aren't we.

I believe it was him. The Holiday season tends to bring kindness out in us all.
I wish him well, too.

Axl's management team wouldn't have the balls to act without Axl's approval. He is too controling and volitile, so to cross him would be to lose your job.

I think it is from Axl. He has matured and has a genuine appreciation of those who support him.

I'm with Brian L. I believe the holidays does it to us all. Good for him, even if it was a moment of weakness.

I think you're over-analyzing a bit. It's a pretty generic kind of statement -- not a whole lot different than what you read in album credits.

He was probably just in a really good mood and felt thankful. Besides, it's not the first time that he has said nice things about bandmates, fans, etc.

Still, it's interesting anytime Axl says anything publicly.

Still can not bring myself to like Axl in any regards, other than his power and voice on stage and on record. He has always been, and always will be, never about the fans.

So what does or should Axl "sound" like? He is human! A message that tries to include everyone on a positive note is not soft.I never want to be in a position where everything I say and do is scrutinized and analyzed and picked through with a fine tooth comb...This blog entry is just being able to write about something easy b/c people equate his name with news and usually try to incite negativity towards him and the band. get a life. why can't anyone say, OH, that was cool. Thanks for acknowlegment....end of story

LMAO, a classic cast of the Confirmation Bias at work here.
