'Someday Remember'

Let's talk obscure. My friend Lee Pistolero happens to front the Gypsy Pistoleros. If you've been to Rocklahoma you know them. If you like offbeat Glam, you know them. If you've been reading this site for awhile, you know them. Anyway, Lee posted a classic video on his Facebook last night that was just too good for me to pass up. I had to share with the class!

Before Lee was flamenco Glam, he was 80s pop rock. You know, something between a mix of The Bangles, Steve Stevens and The Cult. So where does that leave us? With "Someday Remember" by the band The Ice Babies. I have zero information on the band but I do know the EP Someday Remember was rereleased in 2005 via LCKF Music. You can buy the single "Someday Remember" from iTunes right now, by the way.

Check out the video below. I think I love it.

wow, is it 1982 again? pretty cool actually, and I definitely could see that coming out in the early 80's.

I just about fell out of my chair. At first laughing that it was Lee, but quickly realized for this style of music, it was really pretty cool. I guess I am going shopping on Ebay. Thumbs up to Lee!!

Yep! My kids & their friends are all pissing their pants about it! I thought that one was dead & buried.LOL. What can i say, i was young & confused ,butwe got paid!!! It was released in 1983 on Charisma records but after being A listed on BBC Radio 1. It was banned for the line 'Sex & Drugs, then meet the pretty boys?'Hence withdrawn & group dropped
Went on to be licensed to several European labels where it was a top 10 hit.
It was worth it, just for the laff looking back at it now!
See ya at Rocklahoma where GYPSY PISTOLEROS are on Saturday 29th Midnight after ZZTOP!! XXX

Johnny the Bass player used to babysit me and my sister way back in the day. This is brilliant, he showed me a VHS of the song a long time ago but I was too young to realise how good it was.

I'll carck open a red stripe in his honour, he'd like that haha.

I’ve been looking for information.. They seem to have released a single in 1981 with Leisa Gurney on vocals.. Its less glam and more like the Cure. They were from Taunton. This is so much unlike the other track which makes me wonder about whether they were the same. The other single was (maybe) Rhyme Not Reason or “The Ice Babies Cometh” (in which case that track was the B side of Genius of Lies. This single was a 12” which also included Emma Sez and Madeleines Reign. Otherwise its a bit of a dead end...

It's one year after this last info request from Paul, but I think I have found 3 unreleased master tracks on 2 inch tape (ampex ofcourse, so sticky as your mother in law)
bought it off ebay uk , recorded in London in the West3 recording studios.
Since this band is still a total dead end everywhere on the net, and all you have is that one clip and 1 released EP according to Discogs, I thought this might be interested to any glam lover , or any 80's freak for that matter.
Tracks marked and checked by me are STRANGER and FOREVER.
there is a special bonus track which is great but unnamed with vocals but stands out by the hardrock / glam guitar solo. really nice stuff. Contact me if you like me to post it anywhere ...
Enjoy.
