Got My Guns n' Roses Tickets!
I got my Guns n’ Roses concert tickets! I’ll be attending the Cincinnati show on Friday, December 2. I’m very relieved the show is on a Friday because I don’t think I could wait for Axl Rose to go on stage six hours late, drive an hour home and THEN go to work.
I decided to opt for seats and not the floor. Is this non-metal of me? Probably. But again, I can’t stand for six hours while Axl decides to perform. My whole beef with the tour is this: why put 7:30 p.m. as the start show time when it will likely be at least two hours later? Everyone that is going to see GNR in 2011 knows this to be the case. Is this earlier published time a ploy so venues can sell more overpriced beers to unsuspecting fans? Or is this some legal issue dealing with curfews and all that?
At any rate, I’m super excited to finally see Guns n’ Roses – okay, Axl and Friends, live. I was way too young back in the day and this is really my first opportunity to see Axl sing in a live setting. The band better play “Estranged.” After all, I love that song.
Are you going to the 2011 North American Guns n’ Roses tour?

Unfortunately, I had to suffer through it five times. Actually, the first 3 with Izzy including the first time with Adler were quite memorable.
I jest. Seriously, I have no doubts, it will be a h*lluva show. Of course, it's not a complete cover band, as Krimson razzes as long as Axl's in it.
He will surely have a band that nails the old stuff and a killer lead guitarist. I'm sure the show will be a memorable one.
Heck, if I had the bread I would catch 'em in Orlando. Who knows, I still might pull it off at the last sec.
And who knows how much longer he's gonna make the rounds.
Unless, of course, you catch 'em when they actually do the reunion tour after their Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame Induction.
Then you will have seen both versions!
I saw them back in the summer of 91. No Adler, but Izzy was still in the band. At one point someone threw a firecracker which led to a bit of commotion, but the boys took the stage again after a brief break and some harsh words from Mr. Rose.
I saw them one time with Metallica at 3 rivers stadium in Pitt. Back in the day... Only to have a time capsule and revisit. the show you'll see ally will be nothing like it . Im sure youll have fun though.
Go see Adler's Appetite instead
- you are still only seeing one member of Guns N Roses
- it is half the ticket price
- they play the GOOD GnR songs (you won't see Axl playing 'Reckless Life' anytime soon)
- they take the stage on time
- singer can actually hit all the notes
- they posses the 'swagger' that made GnR such a great band in the first place
at this point, I would seriously consider that you re-name your website. supporting guns 'n roses is definately not 'bringing back glam'. you should define your interpretation of what glam means to you and how to (exactly) to bring it back. If you've 'discussed it before'; perhaps you should do it again. I missed that installment.
I was actually going to offer metalboy the opportunity to have me sing 'look what the cat dragged in' from beginning to end- a-capella, in her studio, until I saw your headline.
I haven't even read your comments (I usually don't). But, until my ex-neighbors sing "look what the cat dragged in" and metalboy's ex-lead ann-slinger (I'mean axe) sing it from the choir, I will continue on the glam journey; which I don't need to bring back!
Huh-uh-lo-oh!
Don't knock Al!
She wants to hear Axl SING LIVE, plain and simple.
Live and Let Live!
Well, at least in this case.
Let her GO!
p.s. I'm still gonna try pullin' it off here in Orlando at the last minute. And Christian, I once saw Burt Bacharach and Dionne Warwick with three guitars AND it enabled the band to perfectly replicate his Quasi-Lounge/Jobim sound. Also, last year, I saw Cheap Trick and their supporting act for that tour, Jellyfish, who would join them for Trick's entire set after opening for them. That meant they had 4 guitars and 2 keyboards on stagevfor the entire show. Neilsen himself remarked, "When the boys from Jellyfish asked if they could play along on stage with us, I thought, 'What do we need these guys for? And you know what? We DO need these guys!" Well, I thought he was being gracious cuz I've seen Trick umpteen times and Neilsen duzn't really need anybody when it comes to guitars tho Robin accompanies him plenty on rhythm as we all well know. But I gotta say, same thing as with Bacharach -- 3 guitars really can be AAWESOME! They perfectly replicated stuff like "Heaven Tonight" flawlessly! I'm thinkin' this "G'n'R" show may surprise with all the extra firepower! Hell, I've seen Slash 10 times -- 5 with G'n'R, twice with Snakepit and twice with Revolver. The coolest was him joinin' in with Bang Tango and better yet, Gin Gypsy, who opened, at Limelight in NYC. But for all that, I can tell ya, he really ain't that amazing. His style is kinda straight-up, if ya ask me. Of course, I'll shut my gaping mouth during the shock and awe of the one-off reunion for their performance at the upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. In the meantime, I think Al's playin' her cards right. She still tain't never seen him live and who knows when it could happen again, seriously.
