Meet Bonafide

Have you heard of Bonafide? This band sounds a lot like AC/DC, which is to say, straight ahead rock n' roll. I don't think this sound is going to give them huge commercial success, but I am sure that the live shows are a blast.

The band has been going since 2006, they are Swedish, and apparently they are quite popular in their neck of the woods. I found this band through Amazon, one thing that site does well is look at what you've bought and recommend other things to you.

I've discovered a lot of bands that way, but I think Bonafide might be the best of the bands I've found through Amazon recommendations. Their current CD is called Something's Dripping, and the EP, Fill Your Head with Rock has three songs from that CD, and three covers, the best of which is "Nice Boys (Don't Play Rock n' Roll)." I wonder if they found that song through Rose Tattoo, or through GnR? They certainly seem to play the same festival circuit that Rose Tattoo have embedded themselves in to, so it's a valid question.

Check out the band and let me know your thoughts:

Damn Ally, thanks! This is some straight ahead, good time, beer drinking, sweaty shit!! Spot on comparison to AC/DC by the way. I love it.

These guys are great. I have seen them three times in the last two years here in Barcelona in small clubs and have had the chance to talk with them all personally. They are all nice guys and appreciative with their fans.

If you like straight ahead hard rock along the lines of AC/DC, Rhino Bucket, Airborne, etc. then you will like these guys.

Christian, I just saw a great Aussie band; Electric Mary. They are more of a classic hard rock with a bit of a 70’s vibe but if you get the chance I highly recommend them as well.

We're apparently still in the midst of a great wave of AC/DC-aping bands, which would include Airbourne and The Last Vegas, along with these guys. Then again, the AC/DC sound is considered a classic one for a reason. It just works, and you don't have to care about the originality of it. It rocks and it rolls, and it's f*ing fun. Love this band. Thanks for the tip.
