Want: Steven Tyler Cabbage Patch Kid Doll

OMG, the Children's Action Network is hosting a charity auction on eBay right now featuring celebrity look-a-like Cabbage Patch Kids dolls. Is it wrong that I really want the Steven Tyler doll?

The Steven doll is very accurate and I think would be an amazing conversation piece. Of course, I don't have the money for the doll, but maybe you do!

The Children's Action Network is a national adoption awareness organization dedicated to finding homes for children in the U.S. who are in foster care.

Check out the Steven Tyler auction in case you want to bid. I love his little black and white striped shoes, just like the Draw the Line era. He's also wearing a skull necklace and has a soul patch. Awesomeness.

As an adoptee, I find this incredibly offensive. Cabbage Patch Dolls make "fun" out of a traumatic loss an adoptee endures by losing his/her biological parents.

This isn't cute. Mr. Tyler is clearly ignorant of the effect the 6 billion dollar unregulated adoption industry has on it's product, victims, ie: trafficked children.

Every child adopted in this country receives a FAKE (just like a Cabbage Patch Doll) birth certificate. His/her factual documentation of birth is permanently sealed. A new falsified one listing the adoptive parents as the biological parents is forced onto the adoptee without his/her consent.

Fundraising to separate more children from their families? Why not fundraise for FAMILY PRESERVATION and REUNIFICATION?

Mara brings up serious points. I do know many adoptees. A set of 24-year-old twins recently got together with both their biological parents AND their adoptive ones for a long weekend "family" vacation.

This was the second time they met them and I must say, with the full support of both sides, it was a beautiful thing.

Though, I wouldn't recommend this for everyone and certainly not for kids any younger than they are, it is proof positive that our society is moving forward despite the general fear mongering by the right, regarding their "Traditional Family Values" hocum.

As for Tyler's doll, whether you like it or not, it really does fit right into the category of "How Come Just When I Think I've Seen It All, BBG Tops It Again"!

I'm sure Tyler was well intentioned, even if the charity could be better in your eyes, Mara, and hopefully it will still help many people.

God Bless You and remember you are not alone. Look at the latest last greatest people to have ever lived, IMHO, Steve Jobs. He was adopted.
