Steven Tyler -- '(It) Feels So Good'

Last week, Steven Tyler released the video for his new solo single "(It) Feels So Good." My only thought while watching the video for the first time was "the boys are missing." By that I mean, of course, the rest of Aerosmith. Aerosmith is a sum-of-its-parts sort of band. Aerosmith needs Steven Tyler as much as it needs Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton. Take away a part, and the remaining pieces are weaker.
I'm sure I'll get Steven's solo record when it is released... but I'm looking forward to the new Aerosmith disc more. Truth is truth. Opinions?

Here's some interesting facts...
Last Aero album with orginal music - March 2001 (10 yrs)
Number of studio albums (non-cover) - 13
Number of live albums - 5
Number of greatest hits albums - 11 (6 since 2001)
The song and vid are OK. Actually like it better than most of their 80's stuff. It's got a little Stones thing goin' on... really... 1 part Aerosmith, 1 part Stones, 1 part Pop.
Spence picked up on some visual cues that also has me believing this is an Idol Job, too! Just about a 1/4 of the way into the vid you will notice the blatant product placement of a 2011 Ford Mustang Boss 302 randomly smack dab in the middle of a scene.
This is indicative of the kind of packaged up stuff Idol churns out.
By the way, you heard it here first. Lauren will win Idol in a battle royale with Scotty. It's all rigged anyway, but the voters will totally go this route.
The producers want a boy/girl face-off and Hayley's too talented for the voters to vote for because the LCD masses who bother to vote don't want anyone really talented or different to win because that's not a reflection of who the voters themselves are.
They want Country cuz that's what the main voting demographic is today -- y'know, people who are actually stupid enough to bother voting (not the end all rule, but mostly).
Country has usurped Rock'n'Roll, unfortunately. Like so much of the way the country is going means we're going backwards and not in the right direction.
The voters won't go for Haley, not only because they don't want Rock'n'Roll, especially Zeppelin (my favorite band). True, there was a big difference this year, with a contestant completely dedicated to our music and creating the biggest presence Metal's had on a TV show in decades.
But he didn't make it cuz they're always gonna rig it for the hicks. It's like we're seated at the table but we're not not getting passed any food!
It's a rationale much in the same vein as what Red Rocker has said above.
Haley: Thanks for the Zeppelin. Oops, you fell. Perfect. Now you can get voted off for something that happens to performers all of the time and normally perfectly acceptable. How many times has Tyler fallen on stage? Most recently, actually falling OFF the stage.
It was rather amusing when Tyler quipped to Haley after she fell during her otherwise superlative performance of Zep's "What Is And What Should Never Be", "Did you fall for me, Haley?".
The kid pulled out all the stops, even having her dad back her up with some sizzling lead guitar. Well, that and two bucks and fifty cents will get you a ride on the subway because the American Idol Voting Public will not tolerate a slip up on stage.
It's okay to sing off key or unimpressively like Lauren and Scotty. Many of the voters don't know what they're hearing. Proof of that is the huge success of such lyrical luminaries as a Phil Collen or a Laura Branigan.
But the mass redneck, white-trash, LCD American public will vote her off because they want one of their own "Hicktown, U.S.A" poster children to win. They'll use the fact that she fell as the rationale she's getting booted off.
And Tyler's perfectly happy to go along with it.
Country = LCD
p.s. I have it from a very good source who comments on this site quite regularly that Aerosmith is rumored to not be playing on the finale. Still, I believe they will.
Hugs! Your AI comments are so dead on, I want to reach through the computer and hug you. That is all.
Hahaha!!!
Don't be drinkin' my Kool-Aid, Al!
After all that now I think Scotty's gonna win. So, now, I actually hope I'm wrong on all counts and Haley actually pulls it off.
Unfortunately, just got a feelin' it's gonna be Scotty. He just seems so completely, instantly packageable (is that a word?)...
Unless you get a unified voting block like that votin' for any of the others, more than likely givin' a chance to Lauren, it's Scotty.
He foots the Tea Party M.O. Just like they voted off Lambert, they'll vote in Scotty.
And he duzn't even have to try. Whitebread Vanilla America wins again!
Yeehawwww!!!!
With her gone, Class, as we know it, has left the building.
In the words of her Dad, "My Little Rock'n'Roll Baby"...
The Glam Metal, Purple B.C. Rich toting Zebra Spandex Brigade must prevail! The Tea Party is trying to effect your musical taste, or non-taste.
Last night was the largest vote in American Idol history and they wanted Haley off to have a Hick Battle Royale. No Class Allowed!
Fight for Rock'n'Roll!
Bring Back Glam!
