First Videos of the Def Leppard/Poison Tour

The Def Leppard/Poison/Lita Ford tour kicked off Wednesday night in Salt Lake City, Utah. Videos are popping up online. The Poison setlist is predictable and disappointing.

Look What the Cat Dragged In
Ride the Wind
We're an American Band
Your Mama Don't Dance
Guitar Solo
Fallen Angel
Unskinny Bop
Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Drum Solo
Talk Dirty to Me
Nothin' But A Good Time

The Def Leppard setlist, on the other hand, is pretty amazing.

Undefeated

Rocket
Let It Go
Foolin'
Animal
Love Bites
Gods of War
Acoustic Medley:
Where Does Love Go When It Dies
Now
When Love and Hate Collide
Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad
Two Steps Behind (acoustic)
Women
It's All About Believin'
Let's Get Rocked
Bringing on The Heartbreak
Switch 625
Hysteria
Armageddon It
Photograph
Pour Some Sugar On Me
Rock of Ages

It's been years since Def Lep has performed "Where Does Love Go When It Dies" and "Now." "When Love and Hate Collide" is one of my favorite songs, period!

Here are some videos of the opening night of this tour.

Instead of 8(!) songs from Hysteria I personally would've loved a couple of more songs from their best album High n Dry in favour of tracks like Gods of War and Hysteria.

Good to see Brett has them mixing up the setlist and branching out from the exact same setlist they've been doing for about 20 years....LOL

I think Gods of War is a great sond and addition to the set list. They have to get rid of most of the lame ballads. It slows the show. All of the songs from High n Dry (my favorit Def album) rock!! I am tired of all of the ballads they play.

Poison needs to do one of two things.
A. Go away for about 10 years.
B. Fire Bret IMMEDIATELY.
I'm hoping for B.

Didn't Def Leppard used to be a rock band? Way too many ballads, I want to a rock concert not take a nap.

I think that Joe Elliott should call it a day. His voice sounds really cringe worthy these days. I used to love him and Def Leppard but after seeing them a couple of years ago, I have no interest in seeing them live again. I can't even listen to live Def Leppard on Hair Nation anymore. Sounds bad.

Sorry, but I have to agree about Def Leppard -- way too many ballads in the set list, as well as way too many tunes from Hysteria. Did they somehow forget that they put out a debut album? How cool would it be to hear them play "Wasted?"

I will never pay to see that same 9 song / 2 SOLOS set from Poison again. They even do them in the same order. How lazy.

Serously. What is it with Poison?
Same backdrop as on the Crue/New York Dolls tour:
Same stage "set"
Same boring set list.

Now I know they actually do have a lot more songs that are better than this. Shake it up! Or, as suggested, go away.

DEF LEPPARD, always going to be ballad heavy, because they had a lot of hits with those. Nice to see Switch 625 make a showing, but it needs to melt into Let It Go ! (and the rest of that side of High & Dry! Play more of Slang & X, & less of Hysteria. Is it too much to ask for them to drag out Rock Brigade, or I Am Your Child? Probably...

Any footage of Lita Ford? How'd she do?

8 songs from Hysteria and they still managed to not play my personal favorite,Don't Shoot Shotgun. LOL. But as Ace pointed out Switch 625 was a cool addition.Always loved the guitar work on that song.

Why duz Poison waste two slots on covers? Just as when I saw 'em open for Crüe last summer, Bret Michaels has no sense of the quality of their originals.

"Cry Tough" and "I Want Action" would 100% improve their set.

As far as Def Leppard goes, I agree -- either Elliot should take a clue from Tyler and Keifer and get throat surgery or call it quits. And that acoustic set sounds boring. And I agree with Bob... They should play "Wasted".

ive seen poison a few times so this time im sure will be kind of boring and seen def lepp. they were awesome they ripped songs from high n dry there best cd amd also played rock brigade from on throught the night, yes they are a luittle ballad heavy but i wasnt disappointed as they played mant rockers, looking forward to them as for lita never seen her but lookin forward to it as long as she stays away from that shit cd she put out a few yrs ago.

Unfortunately with the opening band time slot there isn't a whole lot more Poison could do. I agree with Metalboy that they should cut out the covers. Throw in Cry Tough and some other random song that we have never heard live like Love on the Rocks.

As for Def Lepp.....need some more off of Pyromania. Too Late for Love and Comin Under Fire would work.

It's still good rock. I have tickets for Aug.11 and so looking forward to it.

Seen Poison in concert last night in B'ham, AL. It was great. We took my step-son who is 11 and he had the best time ever.Got tickets .. If anyone is thinking of going, I would say do it. It is money well spent .

I agree with Metalboy. Cry Tough and I want Action instead of the covers would improve Poison's set a ton! I've seen both bands in the last couple years. Poison a number of times over the last 10. Same set every time is sooo lame. I've been a huge Poison fan forever, but won't be seeing them again til they mix up the setlist. Love on The Rocks, Valley of Lost Souls, Life Loves a Tragedy, I won't forget you...anything but the covers.
As for Def Lep. They have to play Love Bites and Bringin' on the Heartbreak for obvious reasons, but if you read the setlist, all the other ballads were thrown into a Medley, so it's not like they played a half hour straight of ballads. Also agree that High and Dry kicks ass, but I don't have much of a problem with their set. Hysteria was a HUGE album for them, so I'm sure all the crowd knows them all and is generally happy with what they play.

What about Lita? I would love to see this tour in the UK. I would also agree about Joe's voice, saw them with Crue on the last UK tour and the Crue blew them out of the water, Joe just cannot hit the high notes like he used to.
