Yes, this happened. The Puppet Shakespeare Players joined forces with Dee Snider to teach kids about the letter D. Just watch.

Definitely.
You even hate the first three Metallica albums ? No-one who likes metal, hates 'Master of Puppets'.
Black Sabbath
Judas Priest
Accept
Dio
Rainbow
W.A.S.P.
Motörhead
Megadeth
Motley Crue ( one album only, can you guess which one ? )
Before we get down to the nitty gritty, while DIO (RIP) may have better chops than Osbourne, Ozzy more than makes up for it in originality and uniqueness. Nobody sounds like Ozzy, where there are more singers who sound similar to DIO. Again, Christian, let us be reminded that one shouldn't evaluate a musician solely on technical accuracy but also take into account originality and one's unique inimitable sound.
That's why I'll take Page over Clapton any day. Though Page couldn't have done it without Clapton, he took the music way further, turning the Blues inside out, instead of slavishly toiling away in the genre, actually remaining stuck in it. True, Clapton was an innovator (Les Paul/Marshall set up in 1966 while in John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers) and was in Cream but then he reverted back to the Blues and is stuck there too this day, which I find EXTREMELY boring.
I know you are a Bluesman at heart, so I'm glad to see you are also simultaneously, a diehard Metalhead and proud owner AND player of a Flying V (or is that an Explorer) and even dabble with Poison, though I know deep down, you don't really like 'em.
Still, you need to understand that Metalboy! is a Metalhead among Metalheads even if I think Iron Maidenform, Metallican't and Excrement are total borefests.
Let us not forget, you and I BOTH agree, Accept's "Blood of Nations" IS, unequivocally, THE Best Metal Album of 2010! Unless you want to renege, hahaha!!!
p.s. To clarify, I have gone on record in Comments over the years on this site as liking "Master of Puppets", Metallicrap's only good album. It was after that, they jumped the shark and started drinking too much of Lars' Kool-Aid. I have always contended Hetfield should have left, chromed his last name and started a new band, Hetfield. AND, hmmm... let me guess, you think"Mötley Crüe's Most Metal Album" is... Drum roll, please... "Hooligan's Holiday", whereas, I happen to be of the opinion it is their most sh*te album, and because I acknowledge Glam Metal to be just as Metal as any other kind of Metal (unlike your Sam Dunn theory), I proclaim Crüe's first album, "Too Fast For Love", as their Best and Most Metal album. Sh*t, just look at that album cover. AND, let's not forget their Most Metal song, "Livewire". I rest my case on a stack of Black Sabbath albums and bow before the altar of The Metal Gods! Metalboy! has spoken! \m/
I agree that everything went downhill after 'Puppets', but the first three CDs are all good, and I say that Cliff is the reason.
Hooligan's Holiday is NOT the name of a Motley Crue album. The only one I think is metal, is 'Shout at the devil'. The first album was not quite metal, it was more a slightly heavier version of the Sweet ( great album, but not metal ).
And Metalboy! - that guy really does look like Will Farrell, doesn't he.
Regarding Crue, I stand corrected but you know what the h*ll album I mean. Motley Crue, S/T (1994). Once again, your passive aggressiveness is on full display.
And I thought you might say "Shout At The Devil", where Mick Mars says the album on which "Hooligan's Holiday" appears is his favorite and by far, they're heaviest.
Still, I stand by my assessment of which is their most Metal album.
And everything did go downhill after "Master of Puppets". But I don't think it was solely because of Burton's untimely death (RIP). It's about the songwriting, more than anything, which is also where most of YOUR other Metal bands suffer!
p.s. And to my special Rita -- Yikes! Don't let your husband read that! I don't want to get beat up! What do you mean, "Looks like..."? That IS Will Ferrell on drums in Chickenfoot, isn't it? Kixchix said it was!
Yes, I knew what you meant, it's just that you're berating me for my ignorance, so I found that amusing. The s/t album IS heavy, but it's not really metal, the way that SATD is. Really, at the end of the day, arguing over what is metal always is a waste of time, at the fringes.
Well, the thing is, I stand by my assessment that you're more of a glam fan and not much of a metal fan, which is why the less pop it is, the less you like it. That's cool, I love well crafted pop music ( like Def Leppard or Nickelback ) too. But, you're letting the marketting confuse you. Metal is always heavy. Glam is not. I do think that it's Cliff's songwriting, or at least input, that they needed, that's why I think it died with him. Why do you think their song writing fell apart without him ?
The judges decision is in favor of METALBOY. (Sorry Christian, but you're painting the genre' with too thin a brush).
Motley's TFFL can definitely be considered a "metal" album.
Motley's "self titled" album with Corabi is in no way their worst album. That "winner" would have to be the screaming pile of crap known as "Generation Swine"... also known as a waste of pressed vinyl". P. U. !
To question whether Glam is metal or metal is glam is a long & pointless waste of words. It all comes down to one thing: "Is the Marshall amp cranked up enough to distort?"
I had a long, draw out conversation on this, with reference to Motley, 30 years ago. The question can be asked of any Glam / Glam Metal band... And that question is: "Is it Pop Played Hard" OR is it "Metal Pussed Out" ? You'll give your self an answer. (Which ultimately won't make a damn bit of difference to anyone.)
I put forth that Crue was "Pop Played Hard".
I will also put forth my own slice of philosophy that Dee Snider is embarassing himself, & pissed on everything he ever stood for, when he did this puppet show for a few $$$.
And that's all I have to say about THAT!
I will now step off my rhinestone encrusted soapbox, & put my hubcab diamond star halo back in it's protective flight case.
Ace
And yes, T-Rex is both glam, and awesome. It's clearly NOT metal. I guess some of you had MTV tell you otherwise for so long, that you bought it. And I agree, it doesn't really matter. If it's metal or not, is a dumb thing to argue about, but then, so is telling someone they don't like something they clearly do.
You really think they paid Dee a ton to do this ? You don't think he did it for a laugh ?
The site is called Bring Back Glam! but it has been explained to me from the creator herself, Ms. Allyson B. Crawford, that it was created out of her love of Poison, one of THE most renowned Glam METAL band of all time. Unless she wants to change her tune or clarify her position in this thread of comments, I'm going to take her at her word that this site is devoted primarily to GLAM METAL.
If you want to hijack this site for your agenda of promoting BAD METAL rather than the topic it was primarily designed for and to also, systematically attempt to reclassify GLAM METAL bands into a non-existent category of your description have at it.
Just be aware that everyone is onto you.
p.s. and Ace, since Christian is essentially devoid of a sense of humor among his other mental shortcomings, let me say that, to date, your last sentence usurps all previous funny statements made so far this year in these Comments threads on this site!
If it's GOOD.
I have seen bands of EVERY genre of METAL numerous times, mostly GOOD, some BAD. I also own EVERY Sabbath album (many on both CD AND Vinyl), EVERY Priest album (many on both CD AND Vinyl), EVERY Accept album, ALL of Metallica's first 4 albums plus multiple others (on both CD and Vinyl) -- though you can have 'em (I'll even sign 'em for you!, hahaha!!!), EVERY Loudness album (some on Vinyl), Testament albums, Overkill albums (on CD, on Cassette, on Vinyl), Flotsam & Jetsam (on CD and Cassette), EVERY Type-O-Negative album (LOVE 'em), Racer X albums, Pantera albums, Exciter albums (on Vinyl), Pandemonium (on Vinyl), Voivod (on Vinyl), Mastedon albums, Savatage albums, ALL of The Best of Metal Blade albums (on CD, Cassette AND Vinyl) and damn near EVERY 80's/Early 90's Heavy Metal Compilation including the Chiswick released 3 CD NWOBHM Box Set compiled by your boy, Lars Ulrich and the list goes "on and on and on and on" to paraphrase a Heavy Metal song (See if YOU can guess the title of the song and who performs it), plus tons and tons of other Hair Metal and all it's sub genres.
That's why my name is Metalboy! with an exclamation point, son.
