Black Sabbath Announce New Album and Tour
Black Sabbath just confirmed a reunion tour and album. The new album will be called 13 and will be out in June.
Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler recorded the album in Los Angeles, Calif. with Rage Against the Machine's drummer Brad Wilk. (Excuse me while I freak out a minute. I love RATM!)
The tour will kick off in Auckland, New Zealand on April 20. The band will also play Australia and Japan before the album release. I guess we'll all have to sit tight and wait and see when (if) Black Sabbath makes it to America.

the bad, which sadly outweighs the good...First, if you read the official press release, it makes it seem as though the whole
band is back together, which is simply not true. Not taking anything away from Brad Wilk, but conspicuous by his absence is
Sabbath's one and only real drummer, Bill Ward. Therefore, I consider referring to this as a reunion is a slap in Ward's
face. Second, regarding the tour, I have serious concerns about Ozzy's voice. If you listen to bootlegs of the concerts
Sabbath did in 2012, it is painfully obvious that Ozzy's voice is shot. I admire him for still giving it his all,
but his voice is cracking badly all over the place, and in some instances, he is singing parts of songs in the wrong key. I think that all of those years of yelling at the audience to, "Go f--king craaaaaazyyyyyy" have destroyed his vocal cords. Before Sabbath goes on tour, I seriously hope that Ozzy works with a vocal coach to salvage what is left of his singing voice.
But, yeah, how come "No Ward"? I saw him on That Metal Show mentioning something about issues with he band. what a shame it's come to this. Still, it will be great to hear some new guitar leads from Iommi!
p.s. Rita! That's the funniest thing I've read on here since somebody said Will Ferrell is the drummer for Chickenfoot. I had know idea he was. What a talent he has to be both a comedian AND a drummer!
Obviously, with a name like that I live, breath, eat, sleep METAL.
No, the fact is, I don't like Iron Maidenform because underneath all of their faux Metal posturing, they are nothing more than a loud Prog Rock band. Get it? They don't ROCK!
So, I ask you, what would Jesus say about your comments directed toward me? Have some situational awareness out of respect for your own Christian Doctrine and try and contain yourself before insulting someone so blatantly. One thing's for sure...
Though I may poke fun at you, I have never questioned your love of Heavy Metal. Knowing my name is Metalboy! yet implying that I might not like a band because they are Metal is a slap in the face. You, sir, just officially went over the line.
"GOOD METAL" vs. "BAD METAL"
Example:
Judas Priest vs. Iron Maiden
There's a difference and if you can't tell what it is, you're hopelessly lost in a Prog Rock World thinking it's Metal.
And come on, Ozzy had a voice to lose ? I love the guy, but he's not a great singer. That's why Dio Sabbath was better. ( still want to see this show )
Still, I just like Priest better because they've got catchier songs and more flash. Plus, they're just way more Rock'n'Roll.
For Chrissakes!
Go back to the Comments under Allyson's Black Veil Brides New Album Review! It's a tangent off topic, but I broke it all down for you into two lists -- just a sampling of lousy Metal bands under the heading, "BAD METAL" and a sampling of awesome Metal bands under the heading, "GOOD METAL".

Dude, I said it once and I will say it again, I am a Metalhead first and a Glam Metalhead second. Check the lists back in Comments under Al's BVB Review.
The Ward issue is complicated. On the one hand, he doesn't want to be a contract player getting paid less than his peers. On the other, there are serious questions about whether or not he could handle a full or even partial tour given the shape he is in. None of this is conjecture. Both issues have been an open secret for years.
It doesn't help that the squabble got public and that the band acted as though his issues with a 'sign-able contract' were little more than a hissy fit (nor does their use of his images during that dispute, later pulled, show a whole lot of sensitivity to an old pal).
Ozzy and Ward were closest; Geezer and Iommi never really appreciated his erratic behavior, his mental and drug issues. That is why Geezer likely responded, and then Iommi, when the dispute became public. Ward, for his part, tried to maintain some sort of high ground even though the latest issue is (purportedly) solely money (and who would say they couldn't cut it on a tour?).
Ward brings a style to the early records that can't be duplicated, perhaps even by him now. He had some of that intensity during their Ozzfest reunion. He has, as they say, "feel" and a slightly jazzier sound than a lot of metal drummers. He plays, by his own admission, behind the singer. It is showy without being showy. And it truly belongs of that era. It wouldn't have fit with the Dio era (and Ward knew it in those first few recording sessions).
Taking it all in, I think Ward is a wounded and proud drummer who questioned his own abilities and was hurt by how he was treated in the lead up to the reunion this time around.
The clock is ticking on the band's future, on Iommi's health, on Ozzy's pipes. What likely began as an honest attempt to recapture the glory of the past has turned into a, by turns, business decision involving three founding members and a tribute to the determination of Iommi in the face of a horrible illness.
It won't be the same without Ward; but it wasn't going to be the same with him either.
Now back to the Hooliganism of the Great Metal Debate! Christian is trying to re-christen the sub genre of Metal for which this site is named, yet he's also listed on it as a staff member.
That is why Metalboy! was put on the planet...
