Steel Panther Releases A New Video (NSFW)

Steel Panther just released a video for the song "Party Like Tomorrow Is The End of the World." The video is graphic, so don't watch it at work and don't share it with your mom, either. The song itself isn't that great, to be honest.

Steel Panther will release All You Can Eat in early 2014.

Actaully, I thought the song was great! I can't wait for the album and though maybe its not original its classic Steel Panther and it kicks ass!

I always thought these guys were a one trick pony. I'm sorry, but filling your video with topless girls smells of desperation to me.

I admit, I'll probably still buy it :-)

take the girls out of the video and you don't have much...this sheeit doesn't appeal to too many people over age 30...typical porno-induced crapola...theyre considered a joke by a large percentile and basically pretty much novelety comedy to perpetuate all the rock and metal stereoypes that alot of us are beyond sick of and sick of being slagged for.

Say what you want, But Steel Panther is in on the joke, & don't take themselves too seriously. They totally capture the 1987-89 mentality, and can play... really well. And, they're on their 3rd album with major label distribution & tour the world. They're doing something right.

While this isn't their most brilliant song, ("Community Property" will hold that title for a long time,) it's certainly not bad.

I'm just glad that I'm in on the joke, and can laugh along with them... all the way to the bank.

@Ace - spot on. Steel Panther knows their image and this video fits it exactly. They preach the 80's version of sex, drugs & rock n' roll, and if you've seen them live, nothing here should be shocking at all.

What Ace said. ;-)

I agree, they can really play, and they are in on the joke. It's just that most jokes wear thin, with time.

When I saw them live, a guy near me was super excited to take video of the crowd and check it for topless girls. For guys like him, I am sure it will never get old. The question is, how many sexually retarded middle aged guys are out there to buy this still over and over ?

Do any of you expect them to maybe get serious with their music once the joke does kind of die and they stop selling well music and tour wise? I'd love to hear a 100% serious album by these guys. They're seriously talented musicians.

The video, I didn't think was great, it was good, but not great. I love the song though.

Not my favorite SP song, but I like it. I will buy the album and continue to support this band. I think they are brilliant and while the joke is not always perfect, it is 'on' more than it is a miss. I think they are great. IMO, it has not worn thin yet.

Sorry, Ace, I actually think the joke IS beginning to get a bit old.

And though they may be laughing all the way to the bank, unless you're part of their management team, you're NOT in on the joke. So, you're not actually laughing with 'em. So, actually, the joke's on you. Psyche, Bro. Just kiddin'!

Yes, these guys can play and whoever secures the wigs on their heads does a fine job. But, as I've said before, they ought to go for doing an album a bit more ambitious with the humor not so base in their lyrics but more between the lines like Cheap Trick.

I actually had the pleasure of meeting the bass player backstage at M3. We were joking around about WASP but when I told him my thoughts about Steel Panther taking it to the next level, he stopped laughing.

I'm sorry you old cynical bastards (of which I'm one of), but lets be real. You know what you get when you play/listen/watch Steel Panther, to expect something different would be like asking Slayer to try christian rock.

They rock and they are funny (maybe not 100% of the time, but a lot of the time). I think they are great live and put on a *gasp* show. Who cares if guys are looking around the crowd to see a girl flash ? Hello, have you seen the Home Sweet Home video, have you ever attended a resemblance of a concert from any of the hairbands/glam ? Sorry but boobs were/are everywhere. Its part of the scene for petes sake.

The video itself was great just for all the cameos of "celebrities", to me that was worth the price of admission. Anytime Ron Jeremy doing blow, Chuck Lidell drinking a bong, and RJ Mitte (Walt Jr from Breaking Bad) is partying/puking ? That's just funny.

And to say then need to take it to the "next level" ? What exactly is that ? A concept album ? Residency at a famous Vegas Hotel, world tours, and a growing fan base... seems they are already at a level.

GNR is right. They are riding a wave created by EXACTLY what it is they do. They can't really change it, any more than Warrant could go grunge ( remember those days ? ). They can't notch it up, they just have to ride it to the bitter end.

F'n love these guys and can't wait for the new album. I was very disappointed that I missed them live this past spring in upstate new York, but next time i'm all in! W/out sex and drugs, what is rock n roll???!!! haha......SP Rulz!

Look, guyz, I got all their sh*t and all I'm sayin' is when I saw 'em at M3, they were really pretty boring compared to the other bands and I wasn't alone in that assessment. The joke was pretty much over halfway through their show.

If they mixed in stuff that was a little more clever lyrically but still just as raunchy with double entendre a la AC/DC and Cheap Trick, they'd get more mileage out of their shtick.

How do they achieve that? Get the inner sleeves out from Cheap Trick's "Heaven Tonight" and AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap". Now read the lyrics. Many of the songs are raunchy as hell but it's mostly implied between the lines.

As I've said all along, they can play like hell. Now they can raise the bar by writing better lyrics, not sacrificing any of the humor, reach a wider audience and be able to stretch out a little more, not just their shows, but their career.

Not only do I bet they'll do it, they'll be lauded for it.

"filling your video with topless girls smells of desperation to me."

The song's about a party. The topless girls fit that theme.
October 31, 2013 | Unregistered Commenterbret
They arent making fun of it exactly. The way I see it is that they realize the stereotypes metal fans and metal bands get and they are just shoving it right in their face and saying (sorry for my language) fuck you we like what we like and we are who we are. As far as the change part goes I can go both ways. Sometimes you have to change as long as you still are being yourself kind of like Metallica, they changed with the times but they were still Metallica. A band like Warrant cannot go grunge because it really wouldnt be them they are more party and having a good time and i mean that in a good way. The video is really good, not their best song but i kind of like it, i love the steve o cameo in it as well. They're just doin what they want to do and thats great. They are all good musicians and could easily make a killer album without the joke in it. Either way im in these guys rule.

Dudes! I'm sayin' keep the joke in it. Just mix it up with better jokes.
