New KIX Song, 'Top Down'

KIX recently posted a couple new songs online. "Top Down" is the first track posted below. The song will be on the band's forthcoming CD. I guess the guys wanted to try it out, so they performed it live very recently.

"Top Down" is posted below and I'd like your opinion. Personally, I like the song a lot.

Here's "Can't Stop the Show." This one sounds darker than your average KIX tune, but good nonetheless. I mean, how can it not be good?! It's KIX!

By the way, my ex-lead guitarist is going to be able to experience the new songs in person when he sees their annual "KIXmas" show at Ram's Head Live! in Baltimore tonight.

mb:it's my understanding that the lead singer wrote every note, every lyric and every harmony albeit 43 years of outside influence. If I'm wrong, I'm sure ace will correct me.

I have it on good authority that both songs were written by Mark Schenker and Taylor Rhodes who is producing the record. Taylor co wrote a ton of old Kix songs, these are fun songs, classic Kix.

They are Kix Ass but I do hear something different like Allyson is saying, maybe not darker but maybe a little more rawer and meaner than their older stuff.

Very impressed with both of these songs. They will definitely inject some new life into what was already a killer live show. Kix always delivers! And kudos to whoever said that "Can't Stop The Show" had a bit of a "Night Songs" vibe in the beginning. I was thinking the same thing when I first heard it.
