Mike Tramp - 'Love Don't Come Easy'
Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 12:01AM
Mike Tramp of the original White Lion was just in Australia doing some shows. A few videos are popping up online, including this one: an acoustic version of "Love Don't Come Easy" from the Sydney show.

Fortunately, I was able to catch them at The Cat Club in 1988! Needless to say, he tore the roof off the place.
AND Glamrocker Arch! Though, I kind of agree with you in general, I do think there have been quite a few acoustic reworkings of songs that were originally electric...
For example, Tom Keifer's acoustic renditions of Cinderella material he's performing on his solo tour. Also, KISS and RATT on "MTV Unplugged" are HUGE!
The former is the first public reunion with Ace and Peter since the initial break-up AND the latter features Pearcy and the boys joined by none other than Michael Schenker, as Crosby was apparently chasing his demons or let go for doing so.
Schenker's solo's on acoustic just burn during that performance. Both shows can be enjoyed on YouTube.

It seems to be personal (injury and family) and otherwise. I would guess there is a sub-text involving Tramp's control and direction of the band. But that is just conjecture based on interviews.
As I said previously, they made cheesy metal seem effortless on the first (and, to a lesser degree, second) album: recognizable, recitable, and unique . . . quite the hat trick in an era flooded with 'want to bes' and 'never will bes' as the gas ran out of the Strip tank.
Not that they are the same, but if White Lion had only released the first album, they would stand right alongside the Sea Hags as one of those potentially powerful "what if" sorts of bands. That they went on to record more, and less effective, music weakens their overall impact. Still, they were tight and talented.
And as far as the White Lion vs. Sea Hags comparison goes, you sure you aren't confusing your "cheese" with your "sleaze"?
And I should keep with standardized slang, rather than formalized versions. Hereabouts lurks a troll hungry for words to chomp on.
On guard or en garde, makes no difference to me! Then again, it is easy living with OCD when you have a hard copy of the OED.
