I don't know how I missed this when it came around in 2011, but this Halestorm cover of the Heart classic "All I Wanna Do (Is Make Love To You)" just owns. My goodness. Lzzy Hale's voice is stunning. The video is simple and elegant. This is just great rock and roll.

I don't know where else to put this, but if I don't write it down now I'll forget :)
Got to see Tom Keifer at the above venue, nice little venue. Loved that the floor (2nd floor) shook when Tom got rocking. Something about the whole floor floating up and down that teetered on: Is this safe ?, but f*ck it I don't care. Place was too nice and too urban to not be safe.
The opening band was always TBA, but the Chicago Glam/Metal band Hessler opened up with their first ever Acoustical set. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either. Alot of Chicagoans singing along. The lead singer was very easy on the eyes for those that like blondes in leather pants. Special guest from The Last Vegas was the "percussion" for the set.
Here's that band:

Hessler hung around at the booth after set and after Tom. Very personable and neat to talk to.
Tom part:
1.Sick for the Cure
2.Ain't That a Bitch
3.A Different Light
4.Shake Me
5.Ask Me Yesterday
6.The Flower Song
7.One for Rock and Roll
8.Solid Ground
9.Cold Day in Hell
10.Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)
11.Coming Home
12.Shelter Me
13.With a Little Help from My Friends
14.Gypsy Road
I think this was about the set list, but it gets a little fuzzy in there as I like to visit the bar a little too often.
I actually thought the show would be more acoustical and intimate than what it was. No knock against it, as I had a great time rocking out to Cinderella tunes and some of his new stuff. Shake Me, Yesterday, Flower, Don't Know What, I distinctly remember playing acoustic.
It was nice having his wife sing along with him during the acoustical parts. Of course the Beatles/Joe Cocker remake was excecptionally good in my opinion. I started to sing it when the first couple notes were played (I almost felt like I was on a that game show Name that Tune...I can name that tune in 5 notes, remember that show ?) Anyways, good times and good show.
How the Flower song or Ask Me Yesterday does not become some sort of hit on the radio would be beyond me. Talk about a ballad(s) with substance. Most of the band hung out afterwards and mingled with the crowd, no Tom though.
It rocked and it rolled, even with a little gritty, bluesy overtone thrown in there. Would of been perfect with him ending on Bad Seamstress Blues instead of Gypsy Road :)

Brian L! If I make it up to M3, I'm down for hangin'.
I used to see Lizzy years ago when the band did all covers.. Trust me, she can belt out some mean Pat Benatar covers too.
Lizzy's got the pipes, for sure!
That's the main reason why Halestorm won The Grammy for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance -- She can sing!
VOXUS MAXIMUS!
Monsters of Rock Cruise and M3...... you are all so lucky. I hope everyone has a fabulous time! Sounds like a dream. My friends and family don't understand me (except for Rita). "This is my music. It makes me proud. These are my people and this is my crowd."
