Coldwell Banker, Motley Crue and 'Home Sweet Home'

Look for a new Coldwell Banker commercial during 56th annual Grammy awards this Sunday night. The real estate firm is using Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home" in a new ad campaign. Props to the Crue for cashing in nice where royalties are concerned. The ad was created by Siltanen & Partners.

Also, Metallica will perform during the Grammy telecast and I'm looking forward to seeing some rock music during the show for a change!

I understand how new bands will license their music for exposure due to the fact that many people don't buy music a whole lot but a huge band who's had huge success and are now a classic rock act selling HSH for a bank commercial? please!

Very cute Brian! I agree but I never tire of hearing that song and I would watch the entire commercial just for the tune.

Hmmm... I get juxtaposing THE Quintessential 80's Hair Metal Powerballad with imagery torn right out of the pages of REAL SIMPLE and Martha Stewart Living magazines but in the end the scenes are so vanilla and ultimately boring, it all leaves me wishing they would have refrained from licensing out the song.

It could have worked with a little edgier imagery and a better concept than just cutting from lifestyle scene to lifestyle scene.

One thing for sure, listening the "Home Sweet Home" against these saccharine scenes makes you realize how much harder the song is than previously believed.

What worked so much better was the use of "Kickstart My Heart" in 2012's 60-second Superbowl commercial for KIA. It showed the car in an "everyman's" dream sequence where said man is cheered on while driving around a race track in some sort of 24-hour Le Mans night race through testosterone fueled surreal imagery including Crüe routing for him from the stage as he whips by.

The commercial, created by David & Golliath, the Los Angeles agency which handles KIA, won a Gold Pencil at The One Show, the advertising industry's most highly regarded awards competition.

I can only go for stuff like this if it is cool to me or not haha. The Kia Commercial was alright. But I'm not particularly big on this one. But at least it's not like KISS.

Oh please dear Gods of Rock n Roll and Dj - do not let the Crue turn into Kiss.
