Good Luck, Viv (and Steve)

Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell is getting ready to undergo stem-cell treatment in his fight against Hodgkin's lymphoma. This means he'll be missing a few Def Leppard shows including a big one on Sunday night as part of the NFL International pre-game show (Raiders vs. Dolphins). Trixter guitarist Steve Brown is going to fill in for Viv while he's recovering. I bet Steve is pretty excited as this is nice exposure for him.

Best wishes to Viv & hope he gets well soon.
Not sure I'd have hired Steve from Trixter.
I have 2 other candidates that I think would have been better choices: Either Joe's guitarist from the Quireboys/Down n' Outz, or Phil Collen's guitar Girl-mate, Gerry Laffy. (who recently put out a blindingly good solo CD)

Agree with Ace . . . best wishes for a speedy recovery. Not really a fan of his since he left Dio. But I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone. I hope he beats it back with everything he's got!

Stem cell transplants can go really well or really poorly. I hope it goes really well.
I think Steve Brown will do a great job. He's got the talent and seems like a nice guy. I emailed him a couple years ago on a link from his website and he emailed me back personally. Caught Trixter in Paramus,NJ a few years back and it was a fun show.

Hope Viv kicks The big C's ass. Such a horrible disease that I've watched take too many friends and relatives over the years. And face it, they're NEVER going to cure it, as it's WAY too profitable just to treat it.

Glad for Stevie,as he's a very underrated guitarist,as that clip of him wailing on that "Demartinized" Charvel proves.Give 'em hell guys, both Viv and Steve.

Cancer sucks. It's taken away loved ones, friends, family , and a lot of killer talented musicians. I hope Viv kicks it's ass and hope the dude from Trixter tears it up on stage. Trixter ain't my cup of tea, but I hear they're killer live.

Steve is an excellent showman and guitar player! The dude is massive energy and I'm intrigued to see the vibe he brings to Def Leppard. Definitely a well earned gig as he's such a humble and down to earth rockstar. The last Trixter CD was so damn good and had some DEF style rockers on it, he's the perfect fit for DEF.

Go get Em' Stevie!!!

God Bless Campbell!

I, like Gary and I'm sure many others here, have witnessed both tragedy and survival off Cancer.

Gary, I hope they can find a cure despite the plausible reality of what you claim.

I saw Trixter at M3 a few years ago when Scorps and Cinderella headlined. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at how great Trixter sounded.

Though their 80's and 90's crap is so cheesy (save for that cover of AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds" in '94 or whenever it was), their last album was amazing. It's Never Too Late To Rock And Roll!

I wish Viv all the best and Steve a successful stint until Campbell gets back.
