The Rock In Rio Lineup Does Nothing For Me (So Far)

Rock in Rio is coming to Las Vegas over two weekends in 2015: May 8-9 and May 15-16. Some of the lineup was announced a couple days ago. My initial reaction was "meh."

Metallica, Linkin Park, Taylor Swift, No Doubt, Deftones and John Legend are confirmed so far. The show will take place at a permanent open-air venue near Sahara Avenue. There will be six stages, three rock themes and the venue can hold 85,000 each day. Maybe one of the themes will be hard rock, which would result in some more decent bands being added to the bill. And who knows? Maybe the rest of the lineup will be insane, I'll change my tune and head west for some of the fun.

You can buy pre-sale tickets here. GA wristbands for an entire weekend entry (one weekend) are $298 each. VIP vouchers are good for 1 specific day of the event that you choose and cost $498 each.

Aaaaah, Las Vegas outdoors in the middle of May...That's some brilliant planning there! The only thing worse than a Taylor Swift concert is a Taylor swift concert in 110-degree heat.

Maybe Taylor Swift will do guest vocals with Metallica on Creeping Death.....

Vegas in May isn't that bad, but I sure wouldn't go across town to that pit where they also stage the Electric Daisy Carnival is. There is absolutely nothing on this bill that would even remotely make me consider this gig.

Toddwiggy! The Biters KILL! Dyin' to see 'em!

Hahaha!!!, Gary!

Yeah, what an F'd up Line-Up. Just going there to get a drink would be a bigger reason than to see any of these BORING acts!

Still, I assume there will be better ones added so we'll have to wait and see.

Deftones kill and Linkin Park will rock but Metallica was done long ago, probably and unfortunately before i even got to see em on the black album tour. The rest of the bands get a big facepalm though.

Yeah, BK... I'll give you this... Deftones are amusing. Perhaps I shouldn't be THAT harsh. Though still not really my cup of tea, Deftones bring it heavy.
