Another Summer Tour Announced

It's just barely the new year, but we're getting more summer tour announcements. That's fine with me - the announcements give me hope that winter will be over soon. Kid Rock will apparently go on the road with Foreigner this summer. Right now, no dates or other details have been announced. I would assume one more band would be tacked on to this tour as well. Kid Rock is the headliner - he's releasing a new album next month. I'm much more a Foreigner fan. I do think this show has a lot of potential. What do you think?

Not so sure I understand the Foreigner pairing as much, but should be lots of good music at least. My guess is he'll do similar ticket deals he did when he toured with ZZ Top.
Actually, allow me to give him a much needed name change to... ready for this... Drum roll, please...
Kid UNROCK!!!
Just wanted to get the new year started off right with accurate commentary, hahaha!!!
p.s. Yeah, what the h*ll is with Foreigner? If there ever was a band that could pull off reuniting and make more money because of it, they are it! What's the history between Jones & Graham? Obviously, that's where the rub is. Can't these guys hug it out and just get on with it? H*ll, if Fleetwood Mac can put aside all their baggage bullsh*t from the past, you'd think these two characters would be, too! Unless I'm missing something, I baffled. Looks to me as if that eternally horrible combo of Money and Ego is at the root of it all. As far as Kelly Hanson is concerned, he's got the chops, no doubt, but he lacks a certain uniqueness all great singers have like Graham, that truly sets them apart. Hanson did have a moment in the sun when he was in Brunette. The rest of his carreer after that and previous to Foreigner has been pretty middling. Those bands for which he sang played some pretty generic stuff. Wild Horses and Hardline, even more so, the latter, are definitive examples of AOR mediocrity of the highest order. BORING!
so i have been at 2 monumental concerts: the above one hehe and i was at U2`s "under a bloody red sky" @ red rocks in Colorado. i was so close i looked into the edges eyes several times and he smiled. if i remember right the opener was "the Divinyls" and the second act was "the Fixx" :cocaine was a helluva drug hahahaha
==================
But here comes the COOL part... because of all the weather delays. U2 payed a second show in Boulder,colorado the following night for FREE if you had your ticket stub!

Here's the thing: Jones's treatment of Gramm when he was recovering was beyond deplorable. Sure, Gramm chose to do that tour. But Jones showed very little class in his bid to drop their traditional sound and chase pop gold. The struggles that Gramm went through after that make it a miracle that he is still out there, making music and touring.
Yes, he and Jones made nice at the award ceremony. But, as Tony said, there is no future for Gramm in Foreigner. And with Jones's health being what it is these days, and his skeleton crew of a band, there might not be much Foreigner left either. A shame really. Shades of the whole Journey situation, with two talented but ego-drive guitarists taking control and watering down glorious legacies. [Sidebar: I have no beef with Hanson taking the gig. Who wouldn't if they got that offer?]
Two degrees off that point, why bag on Johnny Gioeli (you beat me to naming the actual singer, Jeff)? He is a great singer for that AOR sound and released some solid tracks in his various formations of Hardline. Can't speak for his other work. But Hardline didn't do the AOR badge a disservice. If anything, bringing on Schon as a producer, writer, and fair weather member added to problems of perception with him hogging the spotlight from an otherwise talented band. He didn't for one minute plan to stick with them if greater things (relative to his ego) came calling. Surprise! They did and he bailed.
Sounds as if this could be an interesting tour. Friends of mine who like Kid Rock say he brings a lot of excitement to the stage and a lot of value to his fans in terms of pricing. Good for him for using his leverage to help craft packages like this.
