But please try and answer a question or two when they are directed at you. And avoid suggesting you deal in facts when, as any casual reader can see, in post after post, that you deal--like almost all of us--in opinions that you hold dear.
Again, you can't simply ignore what people say so as to have your way. Or, in your case, I guess you simply can.
And BK, as I said before... I gave ya the facts and one is captured on videotape of Neil berating the parking attendants!
What was actually offensive to me was his initial view that the reason people hated on Vince was because they were jealous of his many attractive conquests/wives, etc. As so many other posters subsequently commented, there are other reasons why Vince rubs people the wrong way.
And I think he needs to understand that not all "women" are "feminists". If I was really such a "feminist", I hardly think that I would choose Steel Panther as my current favorite group. And I'm pretty sure a feminist would have been offended when Michael Starr motioned for me to go backstage and "j*rk him off", unlike myself who has a sense of humour and gets the joke.
Gee, Steel Panther doesn't seem too policitically correct to me but hey, what do I know? I'm just a woman.
I hope, for your sake, you have a really big d*ck because your personality sucks and you obviously have no brain.
Waste of skin.
Yeah, i mentioned all of those except the domestic abuse stuff(i dont always believe broads in these types of cases, btw. These days they like to get up in a guys grill and act tough, until rubber meets road, then they yell for po po). And disliking him over the whole Razzle and dui charges just seems like weak sauce to me, since they were accidental but to each their own, i guess. Some ppl can find any reason at all to dislike someone, especially those that are much more successful than they are. For example, lets say one of your fam was dui, and had an accident which killed someone. Would it be logical for me to hate them for it? Of course not...but carry on.
Still there's always hope. Last night on Fallon, Neil sure made us feel like there is.
Like you said,to each his own. We're all huge Crüe fans, and as a man way cooler than myself once said,"I know,Its Only Rock And Roll And I Like It" 😎
Rita, your first response on this page was priceless! It made me smile. That said, "feminism" is a very slippery word, bent this way and that by any number of people. I know a few self-described feminists who get the joke and can laugh right alongside SP and their antics. They get the irony. The great thing is that your response elicited nothing more than a series of ad hominems from bkallday. Like I said, I had no need or desire to defend you . . . you are quite capable of handling misplaced rage! Rock on Rita.
Secondly, as usual, you raise some very good points. If you would describe a feminist as someone who believes men and women should be entitled to the same education, paid equally for equal work, treated with the same level of respect, capable of the same accomplishments, and that relationships should carry an equal amount of responsibility, than I am definitely a feminist. So feminist and Steel Panther fans are by no means mutually exclusive terms.
I just don't appreciate people jumping to conclusions about who I am and what I think because I'm a woman.
And I agree about what you said, people should not pretend that their arguments are fact based, when they are obviously opinions. Perhaps the identification of that distinction is above their cognitive capabilities. Or maybe not.
Rock on, my metal friend.
See, Rita? No need for me to step in and throw some out of date coat over the mud puddle for you!
By your explanation and my way of thinking, you are a feminist. And most people, if given a chance to really think about it, would ascribe to the description you provided.
Those that wouldn't, or would throw the term around like a scare-tactic (and that applies to those who say they don't like feminists and also, paradoxically, to some who claim to be feminists)? Well, best they be left to themselves. The world is just passing them by.
Final thought: most of what we do here is opinion-based. As much as Metalboy! is right to hanker for those opinions based in fact (I certainly do), it is equally the case that an opinion offered in good humor, with well-intentioned direction, will get you more than one that is mean-spirited, naive, or reactionary (even, I might add, when you or I believe it to be wrong-headed). Poppins (or was it Def Leppard?) was right: a spoon full of sugar . . .
All the best, Rita.
