Don't know about Night Ranger, however Europe I gather made a boatload of their "Fonal Countdown" Geico commercial. It is like to most viewed commercial since it came out in September. Well deserved cash for them

And a much better commercial than this.

Though the "Amazing Chicken" spot is "amazing" (yet is a little low budget on the special effects with the "star chickens", the Geico commercial featuring Europe is vastly superior, as it transcends even the shows it breaks into.

It's one if those spots that just never gets old no matter how many times you see it.

My guess is they did a flat buyout deal at around $250,000, coming to about $50,000 a piece, which is chump change. Geico isn't known for spending a lot on production, so the agency was spot on with tapping into "The Final Countdown" for the spot.

Let's thank the good folks at The Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia for creating such a universally appealing, yet completely insane commercial, the best of both worlds!

Im glad one of the worst "rock" bands to ever walk the planet, Europe, has found a way to actually make money in 2015. God knows their horrible music cant get it done! Yes i know, some older women still like the band cuz they still think Joey is cute. Lol

BK, I'm with ya on the cheesefactor but Europe is actually quite popular with both millennials and even younger, kinda the same way Journey is. Why?

"The Final Countdown" is an anthem that's remained relevant in pop culture throughout the decades, particularly as a song widely featured on Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

The boys of Europe are no dummies. Sure, they got chump change for this spot but they realized if the commercial became popular, or as those more hip than I would say, went viral, they would be raking it in on iTunes and ticket sales.

They went from forgotten has-beens to universal darlings virtually overnight with this and now they're a household name!
